ILR - 10 year or Tier 2 (General)

Post by gauravgkgoel » Thu Aug 27, 2020 1:42 am

Hi,

I came to UK in Aug 2010 in Tier 2 ICT and staying in UK since then. In Feb 2015, i changed my job and got Tier 2 (General ) Visa. I want to apply the ILR. I have few queries, please if someone can resolve.

1) Which category should I apply, 10 year naturalization or the 5 year completion in Tier 2 (General). I can provide documents in either category. Which option has more chances of getting ILR accepted and faster?

2) Please can some one provide the format for the Absence from UK - Previous Employer letter. I have template for the current employer.

3) For cohabitant - I can provide poof of Water Utility bills (6 monthly frequency) and council tax statement (yearly frequency) which is on me and my spouse's name (joint names).
I have Bank statements and other utility bills (Internet , Gas / Electric) (monthly frequency) which has same address but has either my or my spouse's name. E.g., monthly bank statement for my account and for my spouse's bank account.
Which documents should I submit? How many documents and the frequency is not clear in the application form, please advise.

4) In the consent section of the form, what should be the answer for the below question:
Is the account with a bank or utility company for which you have supplied information and supporting documentation held jointly by you and other people?
Should it be Yes or NO? is this dependent on the answer of the Q3?

Please let me know if you need any more information or clarification if for any of the above query.
Thanks in Advance.

1. Naturalisation is NOT the process of getting ILR. Naurisalation is the process of acquiring British citizenship. ILR, on the other hand, is getting settled status. The long residence has no employment requirement unlike Tier 2. There is no such thing as easier. If you qualify under a route, you get ILR under that route

2. There is no specific template. There is a sample on top of the forum

3. Any document, covering the last two years, from min 3 sources or more

4. If you and your dependant share joint accounts or bills, they should sign consent form part tow. So it will be a YES
