Accommodation - Signed and dated letter of no objection issue

Post by rm128450 » Mon Jul 17, 2023 5:27 pm

Hi all,

My partner outside the UK is applying for a family visa to join me. I have a tenancy agreement and inspection report showing the property will not be overcrowded and an email from the letting agent confirming the landlord has no objection to my partner living with me.

The problem is my caseworker is requesting a signed and dated letter from the letting agent for the visa application. But the letting agent is not willing to create a signed and dated letter. They want to create an addendum which as far as i'm aware would trigger a right to rent check? but my partner would not pass that as she is not in the UK and doesn't have the visa yet.

Will the email suffice as proof of no objection? Should we go ahead with the email? What have other people sent in for the accommodation proof?

Thanks in advance.

If the CW is specifically requesting that, clearly explain this to the letting agent including the additional request mail you got from CW and where possible send by post or mail. Hopefully the letting agent yield, if not provide the email and send trail of correspondence to CW
