Hi, PLEASE advise me that, would Working Tax Credits acceptable as a source of income when deciding maintenance requirement?

Any help would be greatly anticipated.

Many Thanks

Hi Amber,

First of thanks for your kind help here to all. My question to you is what about the british sponsor who's aged 22 and claiming only DLA @ £77.00, while living with parents, hence no cost of accommodation/rent??

Furthermore, as pre-9th july 2012 financial requirement, £5500 is required, please do correct me if I'm wrong, that comes to 5500 / 52 = 105.76 .... so how it is £112.55 for a couple income support?

Looking forward to hear with thanks.

Where are you getting £5500 from? £77 alone per week wouldn't suffice.

You should be ok, a letter from the family stating you have exclusive access to one room and can live rent free will be required.

If you include a calculation set out clearly as per the first post on this thread (please read), you should satisfy the requirement.

Dr's letter are really not important so far as you meet the calculation on the first post of this thread.

Yes if the include a cover letter as per the first post on this thread! If not, they may be refused as many UKVI DMs make erroneous decisions.

How do they know what the accommodation expenses will be if you're applying from outside the uk? Do they base it on average costs in the region you intend to live?

Example, if you have a job offer in Bristol, or in Edinburgh, but are applying from (and are still in) New Zealand, do they base the accommodation costs on expected average accommodation costs in Bristol or Edinburgh, against the after-tax take home of the job offer you have there?

A cover letter is just a letter you add yourself showing the calculation for adequate maintenance.

Thanks Amber for your reply.

As I mentioned the sponsor is living with parents and accommodation for spouse is also being given by the sponsor's parents. Now the sponsor is only getting DLA @ £77.00 and nothing else. So what are you gana advise in this regard???

Has the person got any savings? If not, £77.00 per week is not enough. Why is the person not claiming ESA?
