Thanks Seagul.

Received an email just now as well saying that in their upload portal they cant find the slips however they were ticked in the checklist so it seems like a scanning error. we apologize and would refund you the cost of visa in 28 days.

We are now closing your complaint but if you are unhappy then you can go for a review within 30 days of this letter.

Now, me wondering should I go for review and attach the solicitor receipts :D Point 1) home office acknowledge it was the error on their part.
2) After initial refusal, I lost the trust in the system and by no means felt confident to redo it all on my own so my hiring of a solicitor was justified as an expert opinion was involve to take care of supporting documents and upload at my behest ?

Do you feel these are valid points for dragging the matter further?

Best Regards.

You won't receive any solicitor fee from UKVI because hiring a solicitor was your own choices and whatever your terms & conditions were of his/her hiring service you both need to settle themselves. In my opinion if you try for that refund then may even not get the application fee refund which you might get miraculously.
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.

Thanks Seagul. Yes it is unbelievable for me too that they are indeed refunding.

I think now I trust home office a bit more and possibly solicitor fees were my choice so I may not go for a review as you suggested.

But all of those who think that there were genuine mistakes in their application can follow up with complaint. I wrote it very gently and politely mentioning the errors and my intents was that it should not happen with anyone else and I least expected that they would do a refund as advised by members here any by my solicitor.
I backed my complaint with strong supporting evidence which proved to be irrefutable.

So, now atleast now I have some trust restored in the home office visa applications.

Thanks again!
