With regards to details of family and friends where you were born how much detail needs to be given? How many friends are the expecting you to list and do they want first name, last name, date of birth?
I can't speak to the application form for the initial spouse visa, but I know the FLR(M) application form asks for this. I just put a list of 15-20 people, what their relationship to me was, and the city they lived in. I don't think there's any specific guidance on what to include for this question.
I'm just a guy on the Internet who immigrated to the UK. My opinions are based on my experience and interpretation of the immigration rules and should not be considered legal or immigration advice; your mileage may vary.

When you made your booking for visa (not biometric) you would have been given a checklist of documents. It all depends on what information you provided

At the very minimum its the checklist document sheet and her original passport and id card and photocopies of both before would help. They keep the passport but as mentioned you need to find that document checklist as it has a barcode to match your application

Hi I did not have a non-biometric visa assessment as I have submitted the documents online, my wife still has her passport. Does anyone who have experience of of biometric appointment when self-scanning documents on VFS Global?

I am really confused by this document checklist.

On the VFS self scan it suggests to upload it, but it can't be signed by my wife until she is at the biometrics appoint?

Do I upload it blank or partially filled in? or Do I leave it out from the self scanning entirely?

Has anyone experienced this using the VFS Self scanning?

Can anyone who used the VFS global self scan let me know if you scanned the document checklist or if you left it out and just took it along to the biometrics appointment only.

thanks

Hi I did not use the self scan option but can share my experience with the checklist. My sponsor scanned all the documents including the checklist at one of the UK centres. But nobody signed it before scanning which we found a bit odd.

However, I had to take the document checklist to my biometrics appointment as well (mandatory). The VFS official then signed and scanned it through her system to be forwarded to the ECO.

So my understanding is that the checklist is left to be scanned by the VFS official at the biometrics appointment.

Hope this helps.

Thanks this does help. What do you need to take with you to the biometric appointment?

To be honest it is not very clear on the email.

To be honest it is not very clear on the email.
These are what I took to the appointment:

1. Valid passport as well as photocopy of the bio data page
2. Any expired passport/s if relying on them to show travel history (I personally recommend taking them anyway just in case)
3. VFS appointment confirmation receipt (the document with the barcode)
4. Document checklist

I also took a copy of my sponsor's passport bio data page and the IHS payment confirmation email. They did not check these two although I read somewhere that it was required for the appointment.

That was pretty much it. Good luck! :)
