Asking for additional documents for Spouse Visa

Post by fatguyslim » Wed Feb 01, 2023 11:20 am

Hey everyone, my wife applied for her spouse visa back in Oct 2022 and now we got this following email from the Home Office
The UK Decision Making Centre is currently assessing the application submitted by the above named. We are unable to conclude the application at this time as we require additional information.

Please provide the following documents:
For your relationship:
Further evidence that you are in a genuine relationship, e.g. evidence of how, where and when you met or evidence of how you have kept in contact during periods apart, before or since your marriage. This may be in the form of (but not limited to) chat records, call records or photos to demonstrate that during a supportive and affectionate relationship, there would be significant evidence of regular contact, signs of companionship, emotional support, affection and an abiding interest in each other’s welfare and well-being.

For accommodation:
Proof of adequate accommodation in the UK, this could include (but not limited to) land registry for a property, tenancy agreement, mortgage statements, property inspection reports and any combination of proof of address

For the financial requirement:
You state that you meet finance through cash savings
Please provide 6 months bank statement prior to the application date of 12/10/2022, showing savings have been held for 6 month and evidence of the source of the funds.

Please send this document as a scanned attachment within 10 working days to Sheffield.SettlementDocsRequested@fco.gov.uk quoting your application reference in the subject line. Please attach the document directly to the email as we are unable to access links to files hosted on sites such as Dropbox™ or Google Drive™.
For our relationship, we have created a timeline and have shown photo evidence. I have been here in India since we got married back in Feb 2022 and I provided them with all this information originally. So now I have attached photos, chat records from whatsapp and phone call records. I wonder if these would be enough or do I need to show anything else? I am confused about this part
there would be significant evidence of regular contact, signs of companionship, emotional support, affection and an abiding interest in each other’s welfare and well-being.
Not sure how to best show this when I am already living here in India with my wife.

For accommodation I have attached the relevant documents

For financial requirement, I showed them my bank statements and even declared the source of funds originally but this time I have add further documents to show the source of funds.

My only question is how to best upload these documents to the email. The email has a 25mb limit. Can I upload as a compressed file? Or do I need to upload all the files individually? Any help with this case will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Said bank statements should cover the 6months preceeding the application and the level must not fall below £62,500 for the 6months. Declaration of source of income and evidence where possible as you have provided will be good for your application.

My only question is how to best upload these documents to the email. The email has a 25mb limit. Can I upload as a compressed file? Do not upload as compressed file, there are several app you can use in reducing the size without compromising quality/legibility of the attachments. If still exceeding in size send more that 1 email and in subject indicate Part 1, Part 2 etc. lOr do I need to upload all the files individually? Any help with this case will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

My bank statement showed that I had over £62500 from 11th April to 12th Oct which makes it exactly 6 months and 1 day. I provided a statement explaining how I acquired the funds. It seems bank statements and my letter wasn't enough.

What about the photos though should I just attach them with the label and date it was taken? I am just worried it will be too disorganised

For using cash savings....account statement, declaration of source of funds and if available evidence of source of funds is what you need to provide.
