Bank Statement - Proof of Income

Post by Sarah86 » Thu Nov 15, 2018 12:13 am

Hello,

Thank you so much in advance for taking the time to read this.

As many people know, HSBC refuses to stamp online statements to prove their authenticity. However, one HSBC employee told us that people who are applying for visas usually provide two documents and are accepted: 1) a transactions list printed in branch (with no address) and 2) a letter from the bank confirming the balance held in the account. He said that it should be fine if you submit the two documents together.

Does anyone have any experience with this? Has this worked for anyone? Is there any way to get around stupid HSBC not stamping statements?

Thank you so much for any help or advice you can provide.

Yes. If they both are attached together then can serve the purpose. But make that either the bank use their official letterhead or stamp the online print out.
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.

HSBC doesn’t stamp statements.

The transactions printout has “HSBC” on the top left hand side of the paper, but it has none of the other information that would appear on a bank statement, except for the name of the account holder. This is why I doubt something like this would be accepted.

Can you not order the bank statements through the post. If not, letter from branch and bank statements printed at branch should suffice

The issue here is that the bank statement hasn’t been released yet.

Payment date is 15th of November.
Bank statement showing payment gets released on the 1st of December.

So if we apply for FLR(M) within the next couple of weeks, we will be applying before the actual bank statement is released.

So the solution proposed to us was to print a transactions list, showing that the salary has been paid, and a bank letter showing the total amount held. We are not sure whether this will be accepted or not...

In an ideal world we will just wait until early December when the actual bank statement is released and apply then. However, this absolute mess the Home Office is making with the release of the new system is making us think we need to apply ASAP because we have no idea how to book an appointment for December...

We have already paid the IHS before knowing anything about the system change and now we’re just waiting not knowing what to do :(

Then do as advised by bank and go through transaction list along with a bank letter.
