hello ballu,

I applied from LHR-VAC in the morning.
I am a bit confused regarding this status on the very first day. :s

Also what was the reason of rejection on your side regarding maintenance?

hello hhsmp

bro the main reason of rejecting my visa regarding maintenance is that i have submitted my father's (supponser) personal bank statement along with his company's bank statement as well because company's bank statement is much much heavy then my father's personal bank statement and company is family owned. the VISA OFFICER IS NOT SATISFIED WITH MY FATHER'S PERSONAL BANK STATEMENT AND REGARDING COMPANY BANK STATEMENT HE SAID HE IS NOT CLEARED WHETHER MY FATHER HAS RIGHT TO UTILIZE COMPANY FUNDS AND UPTO WHAT EXTEND AND HE REFUSE MY VISA ON THIS BASES

ooh! sad...

I think you should have applied with your own statement. Anyway best of luck for whatever you plan to do next.

And whats the opinion regarding "APPLICATION FORWARDED TO ISLAMABAD OC ON" on the very first day :)

Hi hhsmp,
Here is my situation:
Wife applied for EEA Permit (like UK Settlement) on 27th Feb at Gerry's Islamabad
I was told it takes 60 working days so 12 weeks
I tracked the application on 4th March for th first time and it said "Application forwarded to Islamabad OC on"
Not sure if it said that from day 1 but it still says that.

I think the backlog is gone and all applications are being handled within 3 weeks. Am I being naive? Should I call and check? I think the number for Islamabad VAC is +92 51 201 2000.
I got the number for Abu Dhabi (referred to as OC) off this forum as well, should I call them?

So hhsmp you should be happy, nothing is wrong hopefully. I think you should get the visa by 25th March. I'll let everyone know if there are any updates from my side.

Hope this helps, good luck.

I'm glad you feel better.

I've tried to get hold of someone at the British Embassy in Abu Dhabi but they are closed until Sunday now.

We need to call vfs global in Abu Dhabi on 00971 2634 2530 (select option zero). Remember they are 4 hours ahead of UK time and they work 9-5 local time.

Have the application reference and the spouse's passport number ready.

I'll let everyone know what they say on Sunday hopefully.

ok people so I found out a couple of things.
1) Only non-settlement applications from Lahore and Karachi are sent to Abu Dhabi. Well they are scanned and decision is made in ABu Dhabi.
2) All other decisions are either made in Islamabad or UK Border Agency and all stamps are put on the passports in Islamabad.

So there is no point calling UK embassy in Abu Dhabi.

The best place to call would be Islamabad Gerry's to get an update and even better would be if someone could go down there 3 weeks after application.

15 working days my friend. It will be 3 weeks (15 working days) for my wife this Friday so I've asked her to call on Thursday and go down on Friday or Monday to check in person. Of course I'll let everyone know.

So wait and see what I say and decide accordingly if its a good idea for your wife to go down late next week.

Family visitor visa

Post by amjadm » Wed Mar 18, 2009 8:51 am

Applied for Family Visitor visa for my mother-in-law on 5th March. She has been to Uk twice before. Gerrys told them it should take 2 weeks. Will it still take 3 weeks?

Salam Amjad,
I'm assuming your mother-in-law applied in Islamabad. According to processing times guide, family visas less than 6 months take about 5-10 working days. Have a look at the pdf file in the link below:

http://www.ukvacpk.com/index.aspx

Just out of curiosity, did you supply bank statements, pay slips and a sponsorship letter?

family visa

Post by amjadm » Wed Mar 18, 2009 10:03 pm

salam kashif, my mother-in-law has visited us in birmingham twice before. This is the 3rd time i am applying at Islamabad, i have included the relevant documentation in support of visa.

The only difference is that i was made redundant at work on 30th november 2008. I have started work at another company, but it has only been 3 months since i have started. Maybe that is the reason they are taking there time. Inshallah I hope there are no complications.

Many thanks for your advice my brother.

At the moment on the website it says 'Application forwarded to Islamabad OC on'. Will inform you when the message changes

My prayers are with you my friend. Insha Allah all will be well. Give us all the good news and congratulations are in waiting.

We chased up via email as well and got a reply last evening saying that wife should contact Gerry's as the decision has been made. Although the online status still says "Application forwarded to Islamabad OC" on the following link:
http://www.vfsglobaluk.com/UKG-Passport ... /ddzHqXg==

So all please pray for us as well and I'll let you know what happens later today.
