Category switch from 10 years to 5 years Flr

Hi,

Is it possible to switch category like FLR 10 years route to moving to 5 years route??

My friend who was on 5 years route Flr(m) but on first extension was put on 10 years route because couldn’t meet financial requirements.
Now he’s extension is due again. Can He apply for settlement meeting financial requirements because he completed 5 years?

Your friend was previously on 5 years route meaning he would need to stay on this route to qualify for ILR however, when he did his first extension, he didnt meet the requirement so he was put on 10 years route which means he will need to either switch back to 5 years route and clock will reset back to ZERO or stay on 10 years route and complete 10 years under long residence route. Your friend doesn't qualify for ILR at the moment but he can switch back to 5 years route as long as he can meet all requirements for this route.
