Why you do not call them?

P.S. Have information from another forum, the waiting time for EEA 4 is getting better, 3-4 months, even one lady received EEA4 in 2.5 months!

Keep us updated.

Why are people using solicitor for EEA2?
Waste of money.

You guys should call HO and tell them that they are breaking the two weeks rule for the issue of COA.

certificate of approval(COA) to get married takes 6 weeks and it is different from EEA certificate of applicaton (COA).

It is not stated any where in the EU directive that COA should be issued within 2 weeks it explicitly say immediately the application is received by the HO

The same as EEA3, theoretically they should issue EEA3 immediately, EEA4 up to 6 months.
When do you think it worth calling for COA, 2 weeks?

Still waiting for COA

Post by rallam » Fri Jun 25, 2010 9:21 am

Hi,
I applied for my COA (cert of approval) on May 10, received letter from HO dated 11/05 stating that my case has been forwarded to a case worker. I'm getting married on August 14, 2010 and we need to give notice to the registrar on or before 28th July.
What is the average processing time of COA these days as I see that it is varying between 6-8 weeks as per some forum posts.
What are the chances that I will get the COA before 28th July?

I'm on 3 years Tier 1 and hence I assume that mine is a straight forward case for COA, however I recently moved to the UK (April 2010) so not sure if that really matters. Please advise or share your experiences on your COA.

I also requested for return of my passport as I need to go back to my home country (on business) asap, but no reponse from HO even after 15 working days on this request.

Still waiting to hear from HO
Good luck to all

I just had to ring the HO for my Fiancee & I to get our travel documents back (they have had our application for approx 6 weeks).

They advised they do not chase progress of cases until week 12 or 13, but that having received our documents it does not delay our application although they could ask for them back if necessary.

Hi UKMIKE,
Do you mean they do not held any information untill 12-th week?
Which application you are about? EEA4?
