Cohabitation documents

Hi.

I am about to apply for my FLR (M) extension in May 2020, and needed to clarify on the proof of cohabitation documents required. I arrived in the UK on 14th October 2017, and have been residing with my husband ever since. The cohabitation documents requirements states that documents need to be provided for the past two years.

If my application is to be submitted in May 2020:

1. Would this cover the previous two years which would go back to May 2018?;
2. Would I need to provide anything from October 2017 to May 2018?;
3. The number of supporting documents in joint names is 6, evenly spread out, is there any harm if I provide additional documents in joint names?

1. Yes
2. You don't need to, HO stated from when to when they are interested in.
3. Don't think it will be any harm though wonder why you think more is better. Instead of providing more than required why not seek out the most acceptable ones with the best spread of 3-4month between.

Thanks for your reply. I've been collating documents but struggling to get something specific along the lines of 3-4 months. I've managed to gather the below, keeping in mind the three sources required. Does it matter if I am using certain sources more than the other, as below it can be noted that I have used water bills and council tax bill more:

May 2018 - Water bill
August 2018 - Water bill
January 2019 - Council tax
March 2019 - Council tax
July 2019 - Tenancy agreement
November 2019 - Water bill
January 2020 - Council tax
April 2020 - Water bill

Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks!

You can reuse the same source as long as at least 3 different sources have been used which looks the case in your circumstances.

No. You need to hit at least 3 sources.

When 6 documents in joint names (as required) are being submitted, the spacing needed will be between 4 and 5 months to cover 2 years.

Believe I have got the three different sources in the water bill, council tax and tenancy agreement. Only struggling with the spacing a bit as can't get the gaps to be consistent between dates of each document...

These seems fine but if possible then narrow down the gap between Aug 18 - Jan 19.

Thanks for your responses everyone. Just one final question on this, the tenancy agreement which I have was electronically signed by us and the letting agency. Is it worth having a letter from the agency confirming the same? As part of the application I shall be enclosing the tenancy deposit certificate too.
