Hello.

It seems the Nairobi visa centre is now opening from 29th June. So I can tell my partner to go for her Tb appointment. Then im planning to submit her application.

However, Kenya is currently on lockdown and no flights. So if I submit now, and she gets her visa approved, how would the 1 month entry clearance work, if she is unable to fly here? Would ukvi extend it until flights start up again?

Please advise.

Thanks
A free extension of entry vignette is being done by HO. Considering you are just applying and countries are opening up and flights too, nothing there is no fast track application for now, be hopeful that things are cleared up by the time the entry clearance is granted.

Thanks. Yes, I'm. Not doing the fast track version application. Just doing the standard one which takes up to 3 months. I'm not in a rush to get her over here since I believe it will be a while before she can fly out since its only starting to get worse with covid in Kenya.

I will submit and just wait.

Thanks a lot

Hi Shayamgorasia,
I have seen in another forum they are now giving a 3 months vignette not the one month.
Even if you submit now, there is a 60 working days window for it to be processed. Surely everything will be back to normality.
Also note there are flights to UK from Nairobi though direct flights are way expensive at the moment she can take cheaper Nairobi=> Addis Ababa =>> LHR route. Only a few hours longer.

Hello,

It states in the FMSE and FM1. 7 documents that if you are providing online bank statements they need to be accompanied with a bank letter stating that they're authentic and genuine or which bear a stamp on each statement. However I went to my bank, and they said they can't provide a letter like this.

I'm pretty sure everyone gets statements online now nobody even uses paper statements. And they're pretty much the same as what I'd get in the post. Would it be an issue without the letter?

So far the online statements are similar to what would have been received by post, then it should not be a problem if used.

Thanks. Is there a file size upload limit on the tlscontact eSolo application? Becuase my WhatsApp chats document is huge, even when I'm compressing it. Photos lose quality but is still big file?

Is there also a limit on how many files you can upload? As I have quite a lot as you can see above.

Thanks, can't wait to get this out the way finally.

It's commonly stated that limit of each file 6MB though I was able to upload more than that during my time. Try out the app ilovepdf.com, note that whatever document you are submitting must be clear and legible so how you compress/reduce.

Thanks, it's just that my Whatsapp chat documents when converting to PDF is 40MB. Thats 1 year of chats. If i reduce it anymore the messages wont be readable. Would 40mb be acceptable, either quite over 6mb.

I can try Adobe DC, i've read it can be done on there up to 50% without compromising quality.

Or the other solution is to split it even more so its 6 months chats, which may be smaller file size, but multiple files.

Simply take their snap shots which usually are significantly lighter than pictures. Then download a image framing software which will convert 4-6 snapshots on one page and the same is acceptable to authorities.

I have already taken screenshots. Do you mean take a screenshot of each page of screenshots on the word doc?

Is 40mb going to be too big and above limit?

Hi,
TLS upload limit is 10Mb per document. Cut it to batches. There is no limit to number of documents you can upload.

Nope. It will quadrupled their size. Simply take screenshots and use the framing software.

No, original is not submitted. TB certificate will also be scanned and uploaded same as other documents. It has validity of 6months and and still be in date as of the time you upload it.
Note that your partner should have it at hand when flying to UK.

Thanks.

Since I'm uploading on TLS, does it matter which categories you put the documents under? Or just judge it best you can, as long as it is uploaded it won't matter?

Also, since I'm uploading what does she need to take to biometric appt? Just her passport and document checklist print out that's generated on access uk?

Try as best as possible to use the categories as stated on TLS, if you don't find a matching or exact category for some documents, upload it as you can best judge. Then ensure to have a copy or screenshot of the web page showing all what you uploaded /submitted for your reference.

Also, since I'm uploading what does she need to take to biometric appt? Just her passport and document checklist print out that's generated on access uk? Yes

Further details as you apply.

Do the TLS Contact Centres not have a direct number? I've just submitted my application on Gov uk and I'm trying to book an appointment on the TLS Contact website in Kenya, Nairobi. But it doesn't show any appointments for any month. Not sure how I will be able to book an appointment as i need to upload my documents asap.

Can anyone advise?

Nevermind I've got it.

So i'm planning the biometric appointment around 15th. All my documents and supporting letters are dated 25th/30th june. If i upload everything now, it doesn't matter if the information is out of date during the appointment does it?

i.e. whatsapp chats last contact date is 30/06/2020,
supporting letters are dated 25th june/1st july
employment letters dated 25th june etc etc

Date of application is the date you submit and pay online. Your supporting documents must be dated on or before this date. The biometrics appointment date is irrelevant to this.

Thanks, what kind of evidence do you need for IHS payment confirmatin and Visa Fee paid confirmation?

I've just got the downloadable confirmation which appeared on screen when I paid for Visa fee and the IHS fee. is this fine? or do i need to include the email confirmations and screenshots of payment that showed up on the screen as well?

They should have this info and wouldn't normally require you to upload evidence of this.

Thanks.

1) Tlscontact didn't send an appointment confirmation email. Would this be sent to the applicants email? I've asked them thst it's not been emailed but they just say your appointment is confirmed. Should i just print the email reply and take that to the appointment?

2)is there anything else that she needs to take apart from :
- current passport
- appointment confirmation reply
- document checklist
- list of uploaded documents
- 2 passport size photographs

Thanks

Hi,
1. Yes just print the email reply, they have all the details.
2. Print out of first page of application and the passport is all they will ask.
If you did self upload they wont sign document checklist. They only sign it for customers who pay for them to upload.
I would suggest you tick it and upload a copy yourself. Don't worry about disclaimer saying you shouldn't tick before biometrics. Also upload the list of uploaded documents.
She doesn't need passport photographs.
