Different culture - the UK doesn't have the same sense of family when it comes to older people. That's the way it is here. Swings and roundabouts. You might get better pay (for example) - but you trade it off on the culture.one thing I couldn't able to under when ukba ready to give visa as dependent for wife and kids then why not parent when they really in need?
The rules are rather unspecific. Each visit is limited to up to 180 days. There is an unspecified time between visits however the ECO must be satisfied that the person isn't residing the UK. The OLD rules used to say no more than 180 days in the UK in any 365. It's still the best 'yard stick' we have as to the maximum amount of time someone should spend in the UK on a visitor visa in any one year. Can I get long term visiting visa, do they need to go out of UK for 6 months before you come back next time?
