After a case is considered, expect a 6 month wait for an answer.

Writing to them will lead nowhere unless it's life or death scenario

Husband's timeline - overstayer 11 yrs
08/16 - FLR (FP) Partner, refused 02/18, 03/18 - JR permission refused with merit
08/18 - FLR FP (Partner) PSC - Approved
07/20 - FLR FP to FLR M Switch - Approved, 03/23 FLR M Ext Approved.

No updates as of yet, but to report that it is now 10 months today since application has been sent. (Applied Aug 2016 expecting a 6 month turn around!)

I will call the HO in two months time if they have yet to respond.

Rather than worrying too much, we are living our lives as normal. Whatever the decision we will deal with it. I hope others are keeping well.

Also posted my FLRFP application in August 2016 and still no update from the HO, over 10 months, also called them but was told I will be contacted within 5 working day but haven't yet heard from them.

Tracked it as well and still saying awaiting decision. It's really crazy ...but like you said life goes on and I'm trying my best to focus on other things in my life but unconsciously thinking about this everyday. Hope to hear updates frm August 2016.

I'm in the same boat as you at the moment and I got in contact with them not long ago...

They replied the same day and basically said that they won't provide an update and that we need to wait until we receive an acceptance or denial + that they won't be accepting further enquires from me.

@Dylan. Wondering why they would say that like they don't want to hear from you gosh!...this HO

Don't they know people's lives are being affected not able to do anything for 10 months isn't a joke especially if you got kids involved
Let's wait and see

That's a very odd thing for the HO to say, I said to whomever I spoke to that I'll call back in two months time to find out what is going on and didn't have any untowardness.

What is frustrating is that they are free to deduct the fee as soon as the paperwork lands on a clerical officer's desk and make us all wait!

All the best guys, keep positive.

Hi everyone. I've just read the entire thread and makes me a lot anxious now. I submitted my application last 05 may 2017 as parent of british child and my wife is british as well. Received my biometrics letter on 14th of June 2017 and did bio enrolment on the same day. After i read all your stories I think I just need to prepare my self to this waiting game.

Hoping you will hear soon from HO for all who are waiting sincE last year.

God bless us all.

Is this your first application or extension? A 6 week turn around time for biometrics is standard, although many had to wait approx 2 months for it.

@bathanza-this is my first application. and i check as well from the link provided in the thread regarding the status is shows same with everybody. AWAITING DECISION.YOUR CASE IS CONSIDERED.

So most probably ill wait for minimum 6months for the decision :(

Anyways, hope you will receive good news from HO regarding your case soon.

@mister123, thanks for the reply. I understand you just came from middle east.
My question is do you live with your wife/partner and for how long before you did the application.
Am asking you this because my case is similar to yours and want to know if I can also use parent route as I have a British child and living with my partner for less than 2 years .
Thanks.

@donwilliams-we are married since 2012. After that she moved with me in middle east for work until 2015. She came back here in UK last sept 2015 as her expected date of delivery is december 2015. From that time i just came here for visit her and our son during my holiday. Just recently i resigned and came here to apply for flr.

Hows your application going then?

This may have already been mentioned earlier in the thread, but members should be aware that FLR(FP) Parent route is only for couples who are living separately.

The correct category for parents who are in a subsisting relationship is FLR(FP) PARTNER route.
See b]E-LTRPT.2.3
Either-
(a) the applicant must have sole parental responsibility for the child or the child normally lives with the applicant and not their other parent (who is a British Citizen or settled in the UK);or
(b) the parent or carer with whom the child normally lives must be-
(i) a British Citizen in the UK or settled in the UK;
(ii) not the partner of the applicant (which here includes a person who has been in a relationship with the applicant for less than two years prior to the date of application); and
(iii) the applicant must not be eligible to apply for leave to remain as a partner under this Appendix.

@casa-thank you for the clarification.as mentioned by our solicitor the main focus of my application is RESPECT FOR FAMILY LIFE AND CHILDS BEST INSTEREST.

Does it mean its more complicated than any other route and will take much longer time for the decision? :?

All complex applications which are under the FLR(FP) categories are likely to take a considerable length of time.

Still not received any response from HO (2 years and waiting). Lawyer said that we could go for a judicial review but it's not likely to be accepted. :(
