FLR(M) Extension

Post by Selina001 » Fri Jan 20, 2023 3:38 pm

Hi everybody,

Firstly I apologise in advance if this question has already been asked.

I am about to apply for my husband’s spouse Visa extension.
He is currently on the five-year route and he has completed the 2.5 years.

I meet all of the requirements in terms of finances etc. However, I have a few questions about the letter of employment and documentation dates.

How far before the actual date of the application can the letter from my Employer be dated?

As an example if I am going to apply for his extension on the 21st of February 2022 what is the earliest date the letter can be dated?

Also, for documentation such as proof of living together, bills, letters, pictures how far back do we need to go?

Is it from the date we applied for the initial spouse visa, date of decision from Home Office or from the date his BRP was issued?
I am just a little confused on this.

Finally , over the 2.5 years, between us, how many letters/bills/pics are sufficient? Can some letters be individually addressed or do they all have to have both our names?

Thanks

How far before the actual date of the application can the letter from my Employer be dated? Try If you can to keep it within 28days of application submission

Also, for documentation such as proof of living together, bills, letters, pictures how far back do we need to go? Pictures not required for FLRM. To cover 2 years preceeding the application date.

Is it from the date we applied for the initial spouse visa, date of decision from Home Office or from the date his BRP was issued?

Thank you for your reply AmazonianX

So we last applied for the spouse visa on 29th July 2020, therefore is the cohabitation/living together evidence from that date?

Thanks

2years preceeding the application means if applying in February 2023 then the correspondence should cover from February 2021 till date.

Thanks, makes sense.

In terms of bills in both our names. The guidance says these must be from 3 different sources.

Since the last two years, we both have only the following named jointly:
Electricity Bills
Water bill (each bill covers 6 months) - is this ok?
Council tax
Tenancy agreements (my partner is listed as a permitted occupier)

My question is, can we use these for throughout the 2 vears? e.g. spread it out over the two years but use the same TYPE of bills.

How often is good to spread out? Like ever 2-3 months?

Also, in addition to this, do we also need to submit individual named bills?

Thanks

Ok thanks a lot AmazonianX - appreciate your response

The only bills/letters we have jointly are:

Electricity Bills
Water bill (each bill covers 6 months) - is this ok?
Council tax
Tenancy agreements (my partner is listed as a permitted occupier)

So was wondering if this will suffice? I can spread them out but these are the only type of correspondence we have jointly.

Everything else is individually addressed e.g. HMRC letters, DVLA , NHS etc

That's fine. Most people don't even have that much. Documents from 3-4 different sources. If you get 6 different sources in any combination XY6, (XY3) X3 Y3 , X6 Y6, (XY2) X4 Y4. Where X is you and Y is spouse.
No sin in failing, you just have to try and try again!

Not an issue, You can combine correspondences addressed to you both and individually.

Thank you so much everyone for your help everyone.

Soon I will list all the address proof I have.

In the meantime, can I just ask about bills please?
Do I go by the date on the bill or statement dates?
e.g. electricity bill from 1s March - 31st March but statement date is 1st April. I am assuming this bill can be used for March's address proof?

Also, can I use statements which are for 6 months. E g. Water bill statement 1st August 2022- January 2023) - can this be used as evidence for all months inclusive?

Thanks

Also, can I use statements which are for 6 months. E g. Water bill statement 1st August 2022- January 2023) - can this be used as evidence for all months inclusive? Not really. Any bill can be used to cover 3-4 months. Not half a year. It's like attempting to use your P60 to cover the whole year. It doesn't work like that.

Thanks

Thanks dear!
I was assuming it is ok as it’s still a bill and addressed to us. It is just the way the water company bill us. Same goes for Council Tax.

In that case, I’ll add in some more bills from my energy supplier to cover the months.

So i am assuming it’s ok for the letter to have no address on it/not addressed to anyone?

It was the same for the letter we had for the first application made 2.5 years ago

In terms of bank statements, do they still need to be stamped by the bank if they’re downloaded from my online banking?

Thank you

I am a bit confused about my water bill

It is a 6 month statement.

For example: February 2021 to August 2021

However, the issue date on the bill is September 2021.

So can I use this bill for cohabitation proof for August or September?

Another example is our Council tax - date of letter is March 2022 but the pay period is April 2022 - March 2023

Not sure which month the letter would be for.
I am assuming March 2022 as that is the date we received it?
