We applied for my wife's FLR(M) visa on July 11th. The biometrics letter came on July 21 and my wife did her biometrics on July 25th. Since then, nothing...

The initial letter we received from the home office said we would have this processed within eight weeks and if it could not be dealt with in eight weeks then they would write to us...Nothing has come. We are almost at eleven weeks now.

I have called a few times on the number mentioned in the previous post but they just tell me that a decision has not been made.

Anyone else waiting past eight weeks?

**UPDATE**

FLRM received 2nd Aug.
Payment attempted to be taken 3rd Aug BANK REFUSED PAYMENT.
Letters received dated 10th of Aug confirming receipt, telling us bank denied payment and asking for alternative payment and requesting biometrics.
Bank seriously screamed at and payment resubmitted 22nd Aug, guaranteed to be delivered 23rd August
Biometrics being submitted 23rd August
Payment finally taken 25th August
Letter received 22nd Sep, dated 19th Sep requesting payslips, detailed bank statements and letters from employers for BOTH of us for the last 3 months. I am still employed with the same employer I was at the time I sponsored his visa almost three years ago. Why on earth are they requesting this when I sent them a full financial year (2015-2016) of payslips and bank statements?! My husband has to go to Italy on the 11th of October and I feel there is no way this will happen now. It is ridiculous!!! I also sent over 8 documents in joint names dated over the last 3 years and varying in type. I am going to to nuts tomorrow if I speak to someone. Can anyone help? Is there any way we can speed up this process??

Hello, I was reading this forum for the last few weeks and decided to share my dates as well:

Application posted: 19 Aug 2016
Application received (special delivery): 22 Aug 2016 (0800 AM)
Payment taken: 23 Aug 2016
Confirmation letter written: 31 Aug 2016
Confirmation letter received by me: 2 Sep 2016
Biometrics taken: 5 Sep 2016

In application I missed a paragraph where I needed to tick "NO" to children for both me and my husband, that was returned to me and asked to send back "ticked". This was the only thing required additionally.

My husband resigned his job in July to go to study so I applied as self-sponsored applicant however we enclosed my husband's payslips for the last 12 months as well as mines just in case. No additional financial docs were requested by HO so far so I believe that was enough.

Tomorrow is 5 weeks, don't really want to be in the list of long-waiters :?

Good luck

The same thing has happened to me. My wife applied for her FLR(M) from here in June (she came over on a fiancee visa in April). We sent everything. Our application was supposed to be straightforward, but we got a letter in early Sept asking for additional evidence (bills, etc...). We sent these immediately, even though we had provided everything with the application. Heard nothing until last Sat, when we got a letter saying we have to attend an interview in Sheffield. No reason given.

We don't know what the problem is - they gave her a fiancee visa in the first place so surely they were convinced everything was above board then! Anyway, we're attending the interview but we're taking an immigration lawyer with us to ensure there are no shenanigans by whoever is interviewing us. Obviously they want to catch us out so they can refuse the visa. My lawyer has been honest with us; though it is illegal to discriminate she is of the opinion that because I have an Indian name (even though I'm British born and bred) and we are a female same sex couple, it's raised a flag.

That is so ridiculous! I hope all goes well with your interview.

My husband is here on a spousal visa, granted in Dec 2013, we were married in August 2013. We have a mortgage together and children! I cannot believe they have done this on the 8th week. My husband is probably going to lose his job as a result of their incompetence. I am livid today after speaking to them at the call centre as they are absolutely useless. Has anyone else had to submit extra documents? How long did it take after you sent them to get your visa and BRP?

12 weeks and counting. Strictly speaking 24 weeks and counting (but the home office made a clerical error and we had to resend our application to be processed from scratch 12 weeks ago). I got in touch with our local MP in Oxford and his immigration case worker is trying to get some information on my behalf. She was told that the normal processing time is 8 weeks, so the Home office is clearly toying with my situation and there clearly doesn't seem to be a recourse to hold them accountable.

UPDATE

So after much toing and froing my MP finally got a response from UKVI about why we are being called for an interview in Sheffield. To recap:

- we applied for a FLR(M) in June (switching from fiancee)
- got a request for additional evidence of 3 bills in Aug
- got an 'invitation' for an interview a few days ago (interview is on Mon!)

Our MP was enquiring as to why the interview is necessary if the required documents were provided and all other criteria has been met, and why if there were concerns were we not invited for an interview in the first place.

The reply, "it is part of the decision making process".

So there you have it. Now it comes down to answering questions about when our rubbish is collected, what colour our front door is, and what I had for breakfast.

Try these numbers, I talked to them today 0300 123 2253 or 0300 123 2241
Hi there, I've tried both numbers with no update on our status other than "still processing". I wrote to Sheffield a month ago with no reply. I phone daily with no answers provided. We are now reaching 12 weeks with no biometrics or visa. Has anyone else waited past 12 weeks? If so what's the max time I could be waiting??

The HO isn't obliged to offer any information on the phone or through letters (at least that's what my solicitor seems to suggest). I've applied at the end of June and I'm still waiting. I'm in touch with the local MP's office who are corresponding with the HO on my behalf and who have given me a vague reason for this delay (though it doesn't apply in your case).

Do let us know if you manage to get it and good luck.

Here is my timeline for my wife's visa so far...

Application posted: 02 September 2016

Payment taken: 05 September 2016

Acknowledgement letter dated: 14 September 2016

Biometrics letter dated: 27 September 2016

Biometrics given: 1 October 2016

All my correspondence is going through my solicitor so there is a few days delay.

It seems it has taken longer for letters to be sent by HO compared to other applications. Hope this isn't a sign that of things to come.

I need my docs back ASAP as I intend to travel at the end of November.

Flr m Processing Time 2016

Post by sulaim » Thu Oct 06, 2016 12:44 pm

Hi Guys,

First of all thank you all very much for the terrific advice I have come across on this site. I have been a silent follower on this forum. I am so happy today as we have received both the documents and the BRP cards for my wife and daughter. The following are the key processing dates:

15/08/2016: Posted the application by Royal Mail special delivery
16/08/2016: Application received by the Home Office
17/08/2016: Payment taken
27/08/2016: Acknowledgement letter received ( dated 25/08/2016 )
31/08/2016: Biometrics Enrolment letter received ( 26/08/2016 )
02/09/2016: Biometrics given at the post office
06/10/2016: Received both BRP cards and documents ( seperately )

I am more than happy to help in anyway if anyone have any questions regarding FLR(M) application. Cheers guys!!!

Hi guys,

This forum was very helpful in relaxing my wife and I over the long wait. The initial visa which I expected to be more complex than a renewal only took about 3 weeks but this renewal took over 2 months. Our timeline:

02/08/2016: Posted the application
04/08/2016: Home Office took the fee
12/08/2016: Letter with biometric instructions
15/08/2016: Biometric sent
LONG WAIT
24/09/2016: Letter requesting further documents
29/09/2016: Documents posted
04/10/2016: Biometric card received
06/10/2016: Rest of the documents returned

We almost booked a holiday for the first 2 weeks of October in August assuming that it would be done by then but fortunately didn't!

By Green Slip You mean the label addressed to the officer who was taking care of your case? Yes we had it, pasted it on the Top.

If it has been beyond 8 weeks you can call them and ask for the status. Might not be much help but sometimes they have informetion
