lol you would think they would be a bit more helpful!

Let me know when you get the address coz I will have to be chasing it up if I dont get the passport this week.

P.S. Congrats on your little one, how is she? Hope she is well. I was thinking that you must have given birth and busy with the little hence the delay in reply.

I just received a letter from home office yesterday stating we need to provide further evidence that me and my husband reside at the same address.

This might be due to us moving out of my parents flat to our own flat. However did send them documents from jan-march so thought this would be sufficient.

We received a letter from the home office 2 weeks ago saying we need to provide further evidence that my Husband has gained the relevant KOL/ESOL requirement. Apparently, a City & Guilds certficate is not enough. They wanted to see enrolment letters, reciepts and times of classes attended. Provided the required docs a week ago and received the passport and the docs (minus the additional ESOL/KOL evidence they requested) yesterday with the ILR stamped on 30th July... YAY!!

Almost at the end now... just need to wait a year before we can apply for Citizenship.. That is provided they dont keep chnaging the rules..

Goodluck to all those waiting.. the end is nearer than it was yesterday, lol..

Just missed our recorded delivery yesterday so went with my husband to pick up parcel at depot and I am very happy to say that our ILR has been granted :D

Finally 4 months on, the wait is over.

Thanks for your support and prayers, much appreciated!

Hey all, here's our timeline so far and from reading some of your posts,I hope we get a speedy response too!

* Sent SET (M) (spouse Visa to ILR) application - Thur 18th Nov 2010 by Royal Mail Special Delivery.

* It arrived on Fri 19th Nov 2010.

Have not checked bank account yet to see if cheque has been cashed,I'll have to pop to a cash machine later. Also not recieved any letter of acknowledgement yet.

My husband is American and I'm British born. Will be glad when all this immigration stuff is all over with so we can relax! We've been together for 5 years, married for 2 and a half.

Just a quick question if anyone knows...my husbands Spouse Visa is due to expire on the 17th Feb 2011 and I've read some ILR applications can take 6 months to be decided...what do we do if we've not heard anything back from the Home Office if it's getting near to the Visa end date? Would my husband be classed as over staying? Or do they take that into account?

Thanks in advance,Anna x

** Edit **

Got letter of acknowledgement today, feel a bit better now!

We're both so happy and so surprised at how quick we heard back from them!

Good luck to anyone else waiting for a response x

I have a application submitted on 16/12/2010 and payment was taken on 19/12 & letter stating app received dated 23/12...

I sent a massive file of papers with driving licences passports etc. Would like to have docs backs asap!

Cheers

Are you sure they send everything back together?? What if I ask for my GB passport back and driving licence... Will this lengthen the application or hinder it in any way? Obviously I have to leave my spouses passport.

Any experiences?

Yes they send everything back together once they have dealt with the application.

If your british you can request your passport back, but obviously not your wife's if she is the applicant

Hi
I'm new to the forum and finding it very useful.
I was wondering if somebody could help.
I am a british born citizen and my wife is from abroad. We have submitted a setform m ILR application at the end of December 2010. It took nearly 1 month to receive and acknowledgement letter and for the money to go out. After that I have nont heard anything until start of May 2011 where I received the same acknowledgement letter again. I am still waiting for my wifes ILR.
My question is what does the same letter coming again mean and should I chase the application?
Just really worried and just really want to know what to make of this as it is in its 6th month now and still waiting for the ILR.

Any help appreciated

My wife posted hers on the 23rd of June 2011
The payment was taken off 27th June 2011
Received letter of payment taken

We are still waiting for the ILR for my wife

Why does it have to take so long.. This is highly unfair and our application is pretty straightforward.

Hey Javadp,

What make you say that waiting time is 8-10 weeks? Ours is very similar to yours.

SET(M) online application/payment
Conf. recived 16/09/2011
now waiting

Please let me know when you hear anything back?
We are really desperate as our tickets are booked to fly end of november. I am calling Home Office but no luck. They dont tell anything.
I am British and wife is Indian. Is it possible that at least we can ask for my passport back, so that at least I can fly?

Any help guys?
Thanks, Sim

Hi simsim,
8-10 weeks is just a guess according to other people comments. When it comes to postal applications, patience is the name of the game unfortunately...I believe you can get your passport back not sure how but UKBA website should have the details...but when/if you do, you need to make it clear that you do not intend to withdraw your application. I read somewhere it takes around 5 working days.
I'll update here when my documents are back.

I had posted this already on the ILR thread, but will add here as similar timing to others.

Also anxiously hoping that it'll be processed soon so that can go overseas for christmas

Hey well done you. Ours was straight forwward application as well. Hopefully, we should receive it next week. We got acknowledgement fron Croydon. Is yours same as well? Our acknowledgement was a day earlier than yours.
Can you please confirm if Home office sent these as recorded delivery or was it sent normal post? I hope it doesnt get lost in the transit.
Many thanks,
Sim
