Just learned that my application has been processed and decision has been made, still awaiting a message for collection of passport

My application has unfortunately been rejected, saying that there was no appendix 2.

Received passport with visa stamp: 3 July 2019

04/07/19: sent a PAP (pre action protocol) whereby no decision or no communication was given and they have to give an answer within 14 days or the matter can proceed to high court
05/07/19: Decision made email from decision making centre after escalation and contacting the contact stating that a decision was made on 18/06/19 and that the documents should have been received by now. Still under escalation to locate the documents and get them sent back to applicant.
09/07/19: received an email stating the Biometric residence permit was available to collect at local post office however no passport released
11/07/19/: Rang the British High Commission in Delhi explaining situation and decision made three weeks ago but no information about passport, spoke to operator who said they don’t discuss about visas on phone but explained how I Amjad a decision made email, explained about the BRP delivery but the passport processing was extremely slow. She explained how the ICC cricket World Cup had an impact etc. However I explained if the visa had been granted then the 30 day vignette sticker would expire unabling my wife to travel. She rang through to the Visa department took the GWF number and name and said wait 1-2 two days max for delivery of passport.
Also emailed the British High Commissioner to New Delhi Sir Dominic Asquith and explained the situation and explained how I expected the passport to be released immediately. Passport was released later on same day and currently in transit

Passport delivered and visa granted alhamdolillah. 45 working days from biometrics, however the Visa was and decision was done within 30 days. They just left the passport at the high commission without sending it back so when it arrived back there wasn’t many days left on the visa so had to book flight immediately. My advice to anybody who has been told a decision has been made and haven’t received their passport back within 10 days to chase up UKVI urgently as well as the local embassy where the passport has been. Submitted and explain that you are worried if a visa but has been granted that the 30 day period will elapse so they treat it as priority.

Only 7 days left for visa expiry, booked tickets asap. I couldn't understand, why the UKVI/VFS was sitting on the passport when the visa was granted in June. If for some reason they delayed in by further 7 days then my wife would not be able to travel.

For other users please note that despite calling UKVI is fruitless there is no other option. I would recommended that users should consider the fact the visa may already be granted but either UKVI or VFS is not releasing the passport. As user Seccy suggested, it is important to contact UKVI and tell them that you are worried if visa is granted than its validity, being only 30 days, may expire.
