Its my 1st time and im kinda stuck can any1 help me?!!!. also how long does it normally take once you have subitted the papers?

If any1 can help my answer my questions I would really appericate it!!!

28 day rule for granted visa

Post by AzimScot » Thu Oct 30, 2008 3:46 pm

Hi guys,

I just wanted to let all you know who have been success in getting a spouse visa that the 28 day rule applied is in force despite allot of speculation on this board about it not being relevant. If you do get your date booked and its more than 28 days you will have to apply for an extension of stay with the home office and also be an initial charge of £155 and then a further fee of £155 when you apply for indefinite leave to remain, which obviously will be longer.

The is what was stated when my wife got her visa.

Escoba my mrs has just made an application, I also posted the documents to her.

My advice to you would be not to use Royal Mails service as this is slow and most importantly can not be trusted to get your parcel to its destination. I sent my documents through DHL. However, you are able to send them direct withh DHL but this will cos about £100 - £150 as they only deal with business accounts. The way way around this is to send your documents via a handling company who then forward the documents to DHL who will deliver to Pakistan in 1 - 4 days and it costs a fair bit less than going direct.

I used a company called Interparcel. They have an online booking process which is straight forward to use. Basically go to their site input all the detils make payment and then a DHL courier will come and collect the documents from your house the following working day. This cost me I think it was £37 and the documents were received by the mrs after 2 days from collection. They have a very detailed parcel tracking system allowing you to track your item right to the point of delivery to your husband. I have used this company on many occasions and have never had any problems with them. In my case all my parcels have been hand delivered to my mrs. Once it arrives in Pakistan somebody from DHL Pakistan will call your husband to advise about delivery.
Their site is www.interparcel.com

The choice is yours but I would strongly reccomend this way as it is fast and also secure.

If anyone can answer that question would appericate it.

Another thing apperantlyI was told that when your other half is asked if their going to work in the uk they should say no? is that jus BS? cuz Iv told my huby to say no.

Hi escoba, I filled in the form and sent it with the rest of the papers and she just signed. Also the answer to the work question, we wrote yes. I thought whether she works or not is upto her but to say no to work when ur so young is just ridicules. I wrote initally I will fully rely on my husband as he is working full time but when in uk I will probably look for work.
Good luck in ur application. And good luck too to Naz and everyone else this week!! I hope u all get great news!

Hey escoba, yeah my wife got her visa and shes coming in a couple of days. When my wife went for her TB test they gave her the results that same day. Just ask him to make an appointment and Inshallah he will get his results the same day, if they suspect something they will ask him to come back for further tests. escoba don't worry, Inshallah everything will be fine! tc
