" For non-settlement applicants applying in Lahore and Karachi only:
Non Settlement applications are normally processed within 15 working days. However, due to significant operational contraints, processing times for applications lodged in Lahore and Karachi are currently in excess of 30 working days. " (http://www.ukvacpk.com/)

this explains why non-settlement applicants from LHR and KHI are not getting their decisions soon.

Finally status changed to "Your application is ready for collection; please visit the UK Visa Application Centre where you submitted your visa application to collect the same" , very nervous about the outcome, asked her to go and collect without waiting for gerry's phone call. Hope they give her today otherwise next two days are saturday and sunday hence off.

Got visa. Thanks God.

Fist visa application was filed on 16th Dec. just after marriage but i thought i would come back and rent accomodation later, did not check these forums, was a big mistake, resulted in waste of time when on 6thFeb they refused visa. Had option to appeal or make fresh application, opted for fresh application, took some time to arrange all documents again , was extremely careful not to miss anything this time. But appoitment dates were not available untill 2March so sumitted fresh application on 2March, got passport back on 3April.

The hardest part of all this process was the emotional roller coster one has to go through during this entire process, the strain it puts on relationship and mental stress it cause, was one of the most stressed times in my life. May God help those who are waiting to join and give them courage to go through it.

Hi Good people

I know some us us are struggling with finances and some can't even get a job until they get a decision with their passports from the HO. Therefore, it is EXPENSIVE calling those 0870/0845xxxxxxxxx numbers that the Home office generally provides.
Don't give up, now you can call Home Office for free, just check out www.saynoto0870.com and you will be provided with a local 0208/0151/0161xxxxxx number where you can contact HO for FREE! The actual number is 01516725626. (But log on to www.saynoto0870.com and confirm for yourself)
Especially if you have a pay monthly home or mobile telephone contract. You can still call from a pay as you go mobile but the charge rate will be like you are calling your neighbour next door on any 0208xxxxxxxx number.
Good luck Razz (Please share with others if it works for you!)

few question brother aqilsheen

Post by 2036789 » Sun Apr 12, 2009 9:58 pm

dear aqilsheen can u please answer a few questions for me brother, my situation is almost identical to yours,i submitted the first application on the 15h dec 2007 and it was refused on the 2nd of feb, due to lack of documents, i wish i had come on this forum at the time and i would have known that application wasnt ggod enough, i made the bad decision of going for the apeal that took nine months and was refused. its been a long emotional rollercoaster being without my wife.
anyway ive been really careful this time and have all my documents apart from p60 which should come in the next couple of weeks.
I just waant to confirm how long did it take them to process your 2nd app was it 1 month, and secondly when booking the appointment with gerry how much in advance do you have to do it because i want it for abot 19th may thankyou will be gratefulfor your response

Welcome..

This means application is at Abu dhabi and is in process, next
staus will be 'ready for collection'. You should call UAE office
on above given number and ask for status of ur application.

Hi, just tell them that gerrys gave you their number and all you want to know is the current status of the application.
