Hello Actuary

Thanks for your reply.

Even after providing them (AbuDhabi) with my passport number...they simply said that it is invalid and then asked me for my application tracking number or bar code number. However on the Gerrys' receipt there is no barcode number and just the tracking number etc and that is what i provided them. They then quickly told me that this is not the correct tracking number and the number they where looking for should start with VFSXXXX.

Shortly after they asked me from where i applied my visa. I told them that it was from karachi Pakistan. They then affirmatively said this is the wrong place to enquire about ur visa as we do not deal with any visa applications from Pakistan. THats when they provided me with the Gerrys PTCL land line number. I tired to reason with them and explained that i have been told that all visas from Pakistan are handled by the UK embassy in AbuDhabi. They simply refused and put the phone down!

How will you explain this?

Any one who has actually made contact with abudhabi and got an update on their spouce visa application (from Pakistan)....then i would like to hear from them.

Member "hsmp505" .... AND ... Member "Miss"........hav u two ever got through abudhabi?

has anyone ever gotten through abudhabi VFS and got confirmed response or something?

The March 2009 statistics from Gerrys website indiacte that 95% of applications from Karachi were complete in 30 working days....and its been now 31 working days....thats why im a bit anxious to hear something from a human.

I have also read on this fourm that the online Gerrys tracking status sometimes does not even update even though the applicaction has been processed!

Please can someone advise me on what steps to take?.

I applied on the 9th MArch and we got married (ruksati ceremony only since we were already married) on the 20th March. My hubby had to return back to UK only after 4 days of our marraige:( :(

Hi Miss

Thanks for sharing ur thoughts and concern...

Together us two can lighten our burden and the frustration of the waiting period if we can disscuss and update our situations on our spouce's application process.

Im sure u have already read my bursting frustration in my previous posts. So...were u able to make contact with the AbuDhabi embassy and got some convincing reponse?

Its been 31 working days for me since i applied and like i said before gerrys claims that 95% of applications from Karachi are processed in 30 working days....

when and where did ur hubby apply from? Has ur husband heard anything yet?

I would like to hear from you sister.. :)

plz keep in touch.

Best regards

Miss

Im very happy for you that u got such a good response!

WOW.......i wish i were that lucky!

My hubby is in Dudley, Westmidlands and he is an engineer by profession.

I also got married in 2007....its only now that i was ready to join my hubby....and my age is now also 22 so i could apply leagly for spouce visa.

So what visa catagory your husband applied?

was it the VF4 spouce visa?..or was it different?

AND DID YOUR hubby try to call abudhabu office or did u? Hav u got any response from them directly?

Regards
DP

its ok miss sister

i no good in english too.

also let me tell u that i actually went down to gerrys office yesterday (karachi) and asked in person about the status of my application. They searched their pile of records and nothing came up. I asked them then how much longer will it take? They said that they dont know that :(

Its so upsetting....because there were so many people waking out with their passports in their hands and with visas!....while i just sat their hoping that my happy hour will come soon!!

anyway i will keep waiting until i get a response

take care sis

@desperate_wife

I hav called last week to abu dhabi and they said that my application is still in process, I also applied at start of April. Then tried yesterday again and they said that visa section is off for day. After that no response...

U should know that when u call UAE, dont ask for visa section, tell operator that you hav applied from Karachi and tell her ur ref number .. it shld be
of KHI120309/xxxxx/x like format on receipt u got from gerrys..

best of luck and do update abt any news.

Hi desperate_wife,

I have called a few times to Abu Dhabi and every time I gave the passport number, they were able to inform me the status. The last time I called was 10 days back.

On one occasion they did ask me the reference number and they traced the application successfully. I have always requested the operator to pass me to the visa section. Worked always.

Thanks!

Hi hsmp505....

previously you gave the number.....
@Miss

Number for Abu Dhabi office is:
00971 2634 2530

btw wht does status on passport tracking says?
Is it saying forwarded to BHC, or forwarded OC on

well i have tried this number and followed urs & 'actuary's' advice....but I have not been able to get a positive reply. Again the same answer i get....we do not process visas from PK and they gave me gerrys number again.

When i dial VFS abudhabi im given 4 options

1) Do i wish to know opening times
2) Do i need to make an appointment
3) What do i need to make an application
4) Want to know status on application

after the above options, it just asks if i wish to go back to main menu

Well i obviously select 4....and thats where the human operator keeps telling me that u have to contact gerrys PK!!!!!!!!

So my question is again.........HOW ARE YOU PEOPLE ABLE TO ENQUIRE ABOUT YOUR VISA APPLICATIONS LODGED FROM PAKISTAN WHEN YOU CALL THE VFS ABUDHABI CENTRE???!!

Finaly.... Allah ke karam se my Wife received her passport wid Visa stamped.

Timeline :
Applied 3rd April Isb
Status since then: Forwarded to OC
Status changed on: 28th April Ready for collection
Got Passport: 29th April

exactly 15 working days (as two easter holidays)

Best of luck all of you with your applications.

Thanks.

I am not going to leave forum this soon :)

Any help I can provide, as I mentioned above, by luck call get through
last week on monday, asked operator (on option 4) that hav applied from Pak and want to know status, gave passport no and she said its in process.

Then tried 3 more times, once office closed, 2nd visa section on leave
3rd no answer as operator connected to visa section and no one picked phone. all these calls one day another, like yesterday tried 4 times but no
one picked phone from visa section.
in the evening status changed, so asked wife to go check at gerrys.

desperate wife
i heard that the people who apply from karachi or lahore must wait 3-4days more then people who apply from islamabad, because they post from abu dhabi direkt to islamabad then from islamabad to karachi and lahore.....
