Hi was794

Any reply from the gerry's guy you emailed?

I also think we are having to wait longer because student applications are in progress ansd they will take priority over settlement visa's so students can start uni in time for there course.

Baz

Today it was working day 61 so the 60 working days ( 12 week) deadline has passed - the status is still the same.

I think the processing is being done on time but the passing of documentation from Islamabad BHC to Gerry is where the delay is.

I spoken to my MP today and will be getting her to speak to the home office on Tuesday.

I believe Was794 is in the same situation as me

I meant 2036789 is in the same situation as me

1- Applied on the same date
2- Same Visa Centre
3- Same Visa - settlement

do let me know if you hear anything from your side

Hi S4INT,

I believe you are right, UKBA may have made the decision, hence the figures on the Statistics they publish every month. It maybe BHC are slow in stamping the passport and getting it to VAC's. Also as i commented earlier students have been applying now aswell so that dont help.

All we can do is pray to Allah (SWT)

It could mean both. Only way to find out out is when you collect it

Hi Kayani,

What you have said does fill me with a bit of optimism, however has he mentioned if they have moved the office to Pakistan or somewhere else in London or UK.
Also if you dont mind me asking how come you took a year to apply for the settlement visa.

Hi Kayani,

I wish you the best of luck inshallah u will be with your loved one very soon.
I understand the difficulties of keeping a job in the UK especially during recession.

My situation is slightly different, My wife has applied for visa to come settle with me in the UK. We got married in April 2009. I am a british citizen and i was born in the UK. I had all the paperwork ready at the time of my wedding but had to wait on an appointment. Now im just waiting for them to make a decision.

And i just pray to Allah (SWT)

Hi Al,

Will it make any difference if my wife comes in London after one year of getting Tier 1 dependent Visa.

Does she have to do TB test again and will be asked alot of questions at the airport?

Thanks

To the best of my knowledge, YES. it has to be valid tb test as it will be lesser wait at heathrow immigration.

Aoa, no my status has not changed yet. I am still in a hanging state.I applied from Islamabad for PSW dependent visa on 16th of June 09.
My father in law and brother in law applied for visit visa on 18th and 23rd of june respectively. My father in law got his visa while brother in law a refusal. Funny thing is that both had almost same documents , same sponsor and same accomomodation proof in UK.

Hello 2036789

Yes its 13 weeks on Thursday and we both are hoping for good news inshallah.

I called Gerry up on Monday and said it was 65 working days so far so whats happening with the application - he said email Abu Dhabi - i started to laugh saying it was a settlement case.

We just have to wait....its not really long now, just feel sorry for the other half really, as everyone keeps asking her what happening and giving her negative thoughts ...just need to hang in there a little longer - Inshallah this week.

I noticed they only update the site on a Friday

will keep you posted...Inshallah this week it has to be

Hi S4INT,

They gave the same info to my wife aswell. They said we cannot give you a telephone no. for BHC but have this email address for Abu Dhabi and email them.

They have no understanding of what to do or of any procedure to following. They just try to get rid of the call.
Regards,

Baz

Hello Waqar

Thank for that, but all settlement Visa are being processed in the UK and not Abu Dhabi - I believe all others are being processed there.

I hope we all hear some good news inshallah as it been a long wait for all off us

hey everyone

i know someone who applied for a student visa on the 9th of july, she had not heard anyhting from gerrys, so decided to go to lahore vac herself just to chk whether her passport was there....and guess what it was there, she collected it on the 28th august, and it was stamped on the 2nd of August!!!!!, no one contacted her and nor did her status change on the website.

i know student visas are processed more quicker than settlement visas. I have a feeling the BHC actually process the visas on time, and then the distribution of passports are the responsibility of gerrys, hence the delays.

If any of you or your partners live near the VAC where you submitted your visas, its well worth checking to see if your passports arrived.

Hi

With regards to going to the Gerry office and saying that your here to collect your passport - it may work but for people who live miles from major cities it to much of a risk - the cost of transport and not forgetting the emotional exhaustion suffered when they are turned back empty handed is not worth it.

I was in Islamabad with my wife just 10 days ago and was going to go to Gerry and decided against it as i've been patient so long a few more days wont hurt.

With everyone yes its fustrating and annoying but the situation is not in our hands so we just have to wait for that call or update on the website until then we just have to be patient.

Inshallah we all will get results sooner or later ..but results will be acheived!

I was not aware that one can enter the Gerry's VAC without an appointment!

The website makes this pretty clear so it is quite surprising to read that you can go and check your status there. The Call Center has also told me that we should check our status online which is regularly updated hence we have not even bothered trying this route....
