navbulls:

thanks a lot for very fast reply, am going to check.
One other question... is that service of MP available only for British or even for other nationalities living in UK (even not permanently)? I dont know if that can have some effect on answer but we applied for EEA family permit as am not British national.
All answers are welcome

Hi was94. Congrats on getting your approval! Its great to see things are finally moving for applicants.

Can you kindly guide me as to whom the MP will be for a British Citizen who is resident in Pakistan? I was not able to find the appropriate person on the website you gave since it seems to cover residents of the UK.

Thanks in advance.

Hi All,

My husband submitted his settlement application on 15th June 2009 at Islamabad.

No news yet but these are the responses I have received so far:

FROM: visa.abudhabi@fco.gov.uk

Dear Sir/Madam

Thank you for your email. This type of application is lodged in Pakistan and processed in the UK. I have checked on the status of your application and can confirm that your application is currently being processed and a decision will be made shortly.

Please do not contact Gerry’s directly about this as they will contact you when your paperwork is ready for collection.

Please forward any future settlement enquiries to ukhub.pakistangeneralenquiries@fco.gov.uk.

Visa Correspondence Team

British Embassy, Abu Dhabi

My local MP

My office has contacted the Border Agency UK Visa Section, which has
advised that your husband's application is awaiting determination. The British High Commission receives, I am told, between 500-600 applications per week, which results in the determination period often being longer than the twelve weeks claimed on the website.

Hi TOPGUN,

When did you apply?

And i take it was from Karachi!

Also UKBA may reply to your MP advising they cannot discuss your application without your consent. But I will wait until next week as that is when 12 weeks are up for my wifes visa application

bazzy,

Mine was an appeal case. I re-submitted my passport on 12 June 2009 from Karachi. It would be 14 weeks by the end of this Friday.

Was,

I hope it will work in this way. MP have sent my wife a letter last week saying that he have e-mailed UKBA and will write to her when he gets any reply from them.

I hope & wish your wife have her passport back by the end of this week INSHALLAH.

Hi TOPGUN,

If you don't mind me asking, why did they reject your visa intially. And have you won the appeal and just waiting for the visa stamp.

bazzy,

I don't know why they refused initially. They were satisfied with everything accept my wife's income. THAT WAS REALLY A STUPID STATEMENT AND REASON. They said my wife's income was below 70 Pounds per week as for spouse settlement their criteria is 95 pounds a week, but my wife was and still earning almost 300 pounds a week, because my wife is a permanent primary school assistant teacher, and at the time of my application she was earning 1100 Pounds a month after all tax deduction. We gave them three months salary slips plus bank statement of her own savings of around 10,000 Pounds since 2007 in her personal account. her parents mortgage and accounts statement. She lives with her parents and they have a four bedroom house. Her parents signed on the declaration stated that they don't have any problem if we both live in their house for free and her solicitor gave the certificate which proves that the house is not over crowded. We gave each and every single document for the proof, but they wanted to refuse so they refused.

Hi,

This is what I hate about this system, they are so inconsistent with decisions and timescales. You can provide all your information, but there is still a chance they can refuse.

But Inshallah we all will hear somthing soon.

The night of power (LAYLA-TUL QADAR) has been blessed upon us, so we should all pray to Allah (SWT). This is the night were Allah (SWT) can change our destiny and fortune.

hi everyone

its been exactly 12 weeks today since my hubby applied for his settlement visa...we were really hoping to get some good news by EID, my family was hoping to celebrate EID by having a huge party if my husbands visa was granted....looks like we'll just have to wait for an unlimimited time at the moment. I have no faith in the BHC whatsoever!!!!, but we have to make the most of this month and keep our faith in God all mighty, and pray that we all get through this difficult time.

Salaam Topgun,

I hope you remember me. I sent you some e-mails a few months ago. I would be grateful if you could advise me if you have sent any e-mails to the BHS since the refusal of your visa.

Kind Regards

A MALIK

Hello,

I have recently been made redundant, i got married in Pakistan last year my wife is currently 20, will be 21 in February next year when i was planning to apply for her Settlement Spousal Visa

However, for the Visa requirements is it imperative to provide 6 months continuous payslips from your employment?? - I am pretty confident i will find a job by the end of the year as jobs in my field are picking up, however say by February 2010 i only have 2-3 months of payslip would this be sufficient. I have over 25k saved in my bank account and own my own property and have received my P45 detailing what i earned over the last year and tax i have paid and have 12 months payslips from September 2009

Your help would be greatly appreciated

You should apply ASAP within a few weeks and include your recent wage slips - dont mention on there you have been made redundant - you gots plenty of savings and room for accomodation so shouldnt have any issues.
