Almost every city in Pakistan has an area called 'Bijli Ghar' :D
Your wife can explain why if you want to know !

I have been to Attock only once. One of my friends was in love with a girl from there ( don't remember the name of the place but it was a small town near the riverside ) and they were to meet.

Me and a couple of others went as bodyguards :D:D
I'm sorry. Its called 'Muhala Bijli Ghar'. Bartleykhan might know this area.
Its an old thread, but something interesting about who come from where caught my eye. I think I could add something.

I was born and brought up in Delhi, India. Belong to that city for 8-9 generations. Ancestors arrived in India from Hijaz (now saudi arabia) during the reign of mughal king Aurangzeb.

My dads mother was born in Lahore.
My dads maternal uncles and aunts and all their families still live in Lahore.

My mums mother was born in Peshawar.
My mums two eldest brothers were born in bannu.
My mums maternal uncles and aunts and their families still live in Pesahwar.

Hi Guys,

Hope everyone waiting hears some good news soon. Can I ask those who have recently submitted application at Mirpur, what was the address of the TB test centre there; is it still Noor Memorial Hospital, Mian Muhammed Road, Chowk Shaheedan? Or is it somewhere different now. And also is there any documentation that the applicant needs to take with them?

thank in advance.

Salaam bro. As you said the expert advise would have to come from Mr Batley himself, but as far as my wifes application went I submitted 18 weekly payslips, letter from employer stating he sees me working for his company for the forseeable future, Company VAT reg documents.

The company I work for is a very small limited company. The ECO did call my employer, but the visa was stamped on my wifes application the following day. So I would say don't put too much into your file, afterall the ECO wants to get home, so keep it straightforward and direct.

My Mrs has been here for three months now.

I'd like to see the trend.

Hey everyone,
Inshallah I will be posting my wifes application to Pakistan really soon. Whats the quickest and securest shipping method that I should use.
Fedex offered a 4 day service, what has everybody else used?

I didn't trust on any service. Reason being, yes you are insured if something is lost, but the documents your submitting are all originals and you really need to ensure these arn't lost.

What we did was find someone who was going Pakistan. We gave it to him at the airport and then my wife collected it from him in Islamabad airport.

Oh, we wern't told by anyone, so some friendly advice, make sure you send/get done in pakistan, a full photocopy of your application as you need to submit that as well.

@ Snipered. Thanks for the advice. I will be getting everything photocopied in England. Would you also photocpy the photographs? Or just print them out twice?

As for delivery options, I agree with what your saying, but I dont know anybody going to Pakistan any time soon. I need to use a shipping company.

What shipping companies have people used and how has your experience been with them?

I've used DHL very reliable. Cost me about £30, only problem you can only track the progress of delivery when it reaches Pakistan delivery office. I had to call DHL customer service after that who advised it's been given to a 3rd party courier comp in Pakistan to deliver as they don't cover all areas to deliver. My parcel was going to Lahore so I asked my Mrs to go to DHL depot and pick it up instead. Took about 5 working days in total.

Hi,

You have the option of DHL or Fedex, those are the only ones i know.

My wife had the issue that she only found out on that date. If you can print 2 of every photo thats even better. Or you can staple the photos to an a4 piece of paper and photo copy that.

Just a note, you have to consider the weight of two full applications when sending by the courior.

Thanks snipered,
Yes i'm going to staple the photos to A4 pieces of paper and photocopy them. Did you put all your documents in clear sleeves in a folder?
How did you number your pages?

My father has written a letter stating that he will allow myself and my wife to stay in his home for as long as we wish.
Does anybody have a template for this letter as i'm just trying to refine it.

Salam all,

It's gone really quiet again on the board these days.....it looks as though people who submitted in April have had only just had the update to collect their passport/visa.

Any updates from those that submitted in May? insha Allah praying for everyone...

Let me tell you what happened. I had it full organised with a covering letter stating every section. I had a folder with clear sleeves. So they can see on both sides. Send to Pakistan.

The company then stated that you cannot give it in clear sleeves and give it in a folder.

So my wife took it all out and put it all together.

Mission, but she managed to do it.

Still no 2nd call from UK Border Agency

Rather than waste time, go to UKINPakistan website. Do a google search for it.

Ring them up and if they say we dont deal with it, ask to be redirected to someone who can.

EXplain the situation. Before doing this, email them as well and ring them up straight after.

Inshallah that will work.

We are still waiting for ours. We applied on the 13/05/2010. Status changed on the 26/05/2010 to processing. Still no call.

Jazakalalh for your advice
I have tried that phecalls and emails, but they said they would call me back and haven't, not to worry. Its been over a week and still not heard from UBA for the phonecall, more then likely they may have contacted my employer if I was not available even if they don't I can only hope no issues. Anyway I am not going to stress about it, whatever is meant to happen will do so, InshAllah will be positive for All.

Make sure you use 100g normal A4 paper, its standard here in the UK. Make two copies, one for them and one for you. Hope it goes well.

thanks for the info about the TB test guys. My sister-in-law got her first one done at Islamabad so wanted to be sure of where the Mirpur test centre was.

I see you're back RHussain, hope you had a good time in Pakistan with the wife. Fingers crossed for your application :D

The Mrs lodged the application on 03/03/2010, her status changed to Forwarded to Islamabad OC the following day, and then changed on 31/03/2010 which was somthing to the effect of pick up your documents. When my Mrs picked her passport up the visa was stamped on 22/03/2010.
