Hi All,

I'm new to this forum.

My husband applied for settlement in October 2013!!!! 9 months on, we are still waiting.

He got called for an interview today at Islamabad embassy, but they never handed him his passport back like they did with many others.
They have advised him, that he will need to collect it from Gerry's office in Lahore next week.
A few people mentioned, that this would mean his visa application has been unsuccessful.

We are all so worried. Does anyone know if this means that his visa has actually been decline?

I meet all the spousal application requirements. The only minor issue is that my husband overstayed in the UK in the past, but made a voluntary departure back to Pakistan last year.

Mu husband did mention that they asked him alot of questions surrounding his TOEIC test, however he handled his full interview in English as his English is very good and his TOEIC certificate is also genuine.

So why did my husband not get his documents back today?

Congratulations to all, who managed to make successful spousal applications.

Any help would be appreciated.

My husband also went today, but they never granted him visa.

Does this mean - that he's been declined?

I checked your email as 'zishan_javaid_@hotmail.co.uk' I could not find
this email address form our database. I was wondering where you have sent
emails.

Regarding your current visa status, our system shows the decision for your
application has been delayed on 23/06/2014 whilst further enquiries are
conducted. I was wondering whether you received an email that contains
'@fco.gov.uk'. Could you also check your spam and junk email box too. Could
you also check the automatic delete function of you email setup. Once
found, you will see the specific instruction that within how many days you
will need to send more original documents (or a scanned copy) within a
certain time limit. It is your responsibility to check your spam and junk
mail box. Please ensure you send more supporting document within the
specified time limit. It was 23rd of June, I hope you still have this
email.

Could you please have a look this information for the processing time.
Each application is assessed individually and processing times may vary,
hence applicants are requested to be patient and wait for the processing to
be completed. We will contact you once a decision has been made or, if
necessary, while your application is being considered.
We have service standards for processing UK visa applications. The
standards below relate only to applications made at our visa application
centres overseas and not to in-country leave to remain or settlement
applications. Our standards say that we will process:
90 per cent of non-settlement applications within 3 weeks, 98 per cent
within 6 weeks and 100 per cent within 12 weeks of the application date.
and 95 per cent of settlement applications within 12 weeks of the
application date and 100 per cent within 24 weeks of the application date.
Please note that we define 1 week as 5 working days. Your patient is much
appreciated. Could you kindly wait for UKVI or the VAC to contact you.

Unfortunately, we are unable to expedite the physical document process. We
are unable to see an electronic paper form on the screen and we are not
able to monitor the reason of delay as we are not the Entry Clearance
Officer (ECO) at the British High Commission. We only can check the visa
status at this stage.

That is the reply I got after emailing ukvi 3 times. I read someone else has had a similar response to this. I have been checking my junk and inbox folder everyday and nothing has come through regarding add docs, so am I right in assuming this seems to be a generic email from ukvi and I shouldn't be too worried?

Also my MP got back to me and said that it was still being processed and how they have to check with different areas outside of ukvi eg local councils, the police etc and once these checks are completed they will let my wide know. There was no mention of add docs, so am I right to assume it is still being processed and there is no need for add docs?

Thanks and congrats to all those who have got their visas, may Allah help us.

My husband also had his interview today.
Here are some of the questions they asked him:

- What is your wife's name?
- Where does your wife live?
- What is your wife's favourite colour?
- Where does your wife work?
- How many points did you get in your TOEIC test?
- When did you do your TOEIC test?
- What day of the week are we on?
- What is your favourite TV programme?

(some of these questions, are totally random and irrelevant to the application. But i think they ask them to test your English skills)

I hope this helps!! xx

it depends on the case, its to do with your income. myn was they didnt believe i worked cuz of a mistake on my wage slip altho i had an employer letter and they could have just rang him up and confirmed it. I have sent further evidence that i do work there including another letter from my employer and copies of my cheques which shows I have been getting paid by them.
