I think they've started escalating old cases now. Especially ones from December. The thing I'm worried about the most is that they're not saying my hubby's application is being checked or anything. They're saying it's still waiting to be assessed. How can that be? After 6 months!!!

Hi guys,
I was just completing the online form on visa4uk for my wife- completing on her behalf - need some clarificatons:

1) In the travel information : Question : How long do you intend to stay in the UK? -- Is it ok to write 5 years? what is the correct answer
2) In the family details : Question : Does your spouse / partner currently live with you ? I assume its OK to write No here. Can anyone please confirm.
3) In the Sponsor details section : Question : What is their relationship to you? I cannot find any Spouse option. Should I just select other relative.
4 ) On the initial page for the Select Visa Type: Reason for visit : Settlement, Visa Type: Settlement, Visa Sub Type: Wife. Are these valid options.
5) I intend to fax or scan the signed sponsor declaration Form SU07/12. Would it be OK Or do I need to send the form. if yes then is Royal mail reliable?

1. 2.5 years, reason being, it is not guaranteed she will get FLR in the UK when you apply again. Anything can change in that time. Best to write 2.5 years. That's what I did.

2. If you do not live your spouse, then write no. It does ask where the sponsor lives, so do not worry about that.

3. Other relative. Then in the additional information box, write other relative is husband.

4. Yes

5. Send the form with your application.

On the subject of delivering. Depending on where you are sending to in Pakistan DHL can be very expensive. I used RM both times and both times it has been cheap and been delivered in 4 days. One thing to know is they do not offer tracking outside of the UK. It's a risk I took and it payed off.

i am going to be writing for that question "permanently" now will that look wrong??, as the spouse intends to live with her husband permanently, as in appendix 2 and question 1.18 this was already answered

"do you intend to live with your spouse permanently"?

I mean to ask that what financial category have u applied under? there is a perception in this forum that people who are applying under Category A have quicker turn around.
