What date did you mention for your wife wish to travel in Application form? Did you get visa before that date?

Thankyou very much. Its thrilling news, especially for my wife - she was hysterical when telling over the phone! Its a big relief as i did think it would get rejected!
2 months yes Ejaz12 but remember to count it in their actual working days, e.g. Monday to Fridays & also any national/state holidays that are relevant to the region. So i think ours took 43 working days (starting from 14th Feb as that is a Monday &submission day was friday until the 14th Apr, day of valididity) So who knows hopefully you will be issued yours early, but its better for minds sake to presume it will take long.

Hi mate. My wife meets the requirement because she holds a degree (BA University graduate) which was taught/studied/researched in English.

Hi, no my wife did not obtain a letter from UK NARIC. She supplied her graduation certificate. She also went back to her university where one of her tutors kindly write a letter on headed paper to state some facts.
Have you checked the UK Boder agency's points calculator to see if the qualification you have is acepted as per meeting the english language requirement? http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/pointscalculator

Just checked and it came back with 10 points? what does this mean, as it says this is for tier 1 or 2 visa's?

10 points mean that your academic qualifiaction qualifies for meeting the English language requirement criteria. Dont worry about it being tier 1 or tier 2, its just a starting point & it makes no diffrence to the outcome of the points calculator.

Hopefully it should be okay; I didn’t include a letter from the uni but included all my BCOM certificate and transcripts from each year of the course.

How long do appeal processes take for processing in India ( Delhi) a appeal was submitted for spouse settlement for a family member in June 27 2011, the application was rejected only due to English Language requirements not being fulfilled. An ILETS test was done and passed with overall score of 4.0 and appeal submitted within 28 days, however the ILETS certfiicate was posted outside the 28 days (but the result could be checked online after 13 days and this was mentioned in the appeal form). This should be ok?

Hello All,

I am quite new to this site! 8)

I am a British citizen and my husband is from india. He filed his application yesterday at the Jalandhar VFS office. I know we have a long wait ahead of us as i have read other stories on here stating it takes approx 60 working days to hear something back but i just thought id keep sharing my experience on here with you guys!

Has anyone recently submitted there application at the jalandhar office??

Ive not read many posts where people have been invited for interviews either.. Is this something that the UKBA do less of now or do they just carry interviews out over the phone??

Also is it true that medicals are no longer required???

Thanks for all your help! Wish me luck in our application!
