I have also submitted evening standard newspaper clippings of our marriage. i think that would be enough.
i'm surprised you lawyer did not get you to submit the letter of invitation. but you seem to have most of the docs required.

yeh, thats a point.

now the waiting is nearly over.....its all about the result.

But a friend of mine in India told me that his sister applied for setttlement visa in January 2010 and it took four months to process.

she flying to the UK next week.

so, it all depends on each case......

4 months

i think they have a standard to comply with now and if it is not decided in 12 weeks you can start to kick up a fuss and they will have to look into it.

no not at the moment.

I was speaking to a friend of mine who also applied around the beginning of March and he is still waiting to hear too. I think they are just taking their time at the moment. he also called the embassy and they told him to wait until 12 week are up before contacting about individual cases

so frustrating but have to wait

From the UKBA link :-
"Due to reporting restrictions in place during the general election period in the UK, we are not able to publish the visa processing times for March on our website. Updated figures will be published as soon as possible after the restrictions have been lifted. We appologise for any inconvenience this may cause".

Why? Do they think good or bad figures might have influenced the voting intentions of the electorate?

anyway the election is over so nothing stopping them updating now.

I was looking at the figures for this time last year and 36% of application were completed in 30 days. ans 58% in 30days between July and Sept 09. So they have clearly got slower rather than improving the service.

The wait continues. :?

just to update all. a friend of mone who applied in early march has had a response from the BHC in new delhi and accordingly i assume that they are now dealing with applications around that time.

Please note however that each case is dealt with on its own merits so this is just an indication and on definative on any one persons case.

hope it helps.

Don't really want to comment as I do not want to get anyone's hope up or get them unnesessarily worried. ALl i will say is that the application has been processed and it took about 11 weeks in total.

Let us know how you also get on. I sure this will help
