Spouse Visa - Albania

Post by vickivickii » Sun Aug 24, 2008 5:38 pm

Hi all

You may have read my previous threads..

The day has finally come for me to fly to Albania - Wednesday. I have my certificate of no impedments and my birth certificate legalised - i am getting them translated in the morning. All my documents are together and it's looking really good. I also wrote to my mp and have received a reply to say he supports us all the way and is going to contact the home office personally regarding this.

I get married on 7th September and we will then apply. I'm so excited because i've not seen my fiance for coming up 6 weeks but i'm so nervous also! One minute i have a good feeling about applying, next minute i have a bad feeling!

i'll keep you all updated with whats going on & timelines etc!

wish me luck..!

Lesley - how did it go?

Adi had his appointment this morning. They said all docs are fine and his interview is 5th November.

Sounds to me like he won't be home before Christmas :(

Does anybody have an approximate timing of getting your decision after the interview?

Happy birthday vickivickii! I don't know the timescale as it seems to be different for everyone I have read on these boards but try to stay positive and hopefully your husband will be home for xmas.
My husband will have his interview on 28th October, just a few days before yours. Good luck to you :)

My husband and I went through all this at the begining of the year. He had is interview on 28 February 2008.

From our experience, everybody goes through into the waiting room and people are called forward one by one, all interview's happened before 12pm. On that day everybody was told to come back at 3pm, again everybody sat in the waiting room and waited to be called forward, the decisions were given out that day.

Things may have changed since then.

Good luck :)

Hi Vickivickii,
Appeal went well, was only asked a few questions about refusal and then the judge said based on the evidence he has heard the visa will be granted (hooray!!!!!) just needed it in writing,so back to waiting again.
Wishing you all the luck for the 5th November.

Hi vickivickii, good luck from me too!
My husband has his interview last Tuesday, we went to the embassy together and I waited in the waiting room. The interview lasted about 15 minutes and they asked him lots of questions but we had practiced beforehand using all the questions people have posted on this site so he was relaxed and knew what to expect.
He was told to wait for two weeks for a call from the embassy but he actually got a call on Friday, three days later telling him to go to the embassy on Tuesday. We don't know if this is means he has the visa.....or not

hey sky

ahh i really hope your husband gets it. what kind of questions were asked?

15 minutes?! my god i assumed it would be a lot longer.. seeing as its something so important.

i hope and pray we don't have to wait 2 full weeks for a decision!

Sadly, my hubby has just been told today that he has been refused. We're gutted.
Should he fax me the appeal form? What do we do next?
Thanks....
