Hey Karmy,

Yes, I waited 2 months until I have decided to mail to them to find out whether they have received the supporting docs or not. People normally receive a confirmation email within 2-3 weeks of sending the supporting documents. In my case it was different. I didn't receive any email from them. So I just waited for 2 months and then send them an email to confirm if they have received my supporting docs or not.

Hi Ronson

Thank you for your response again, did they reply back to you? .. sorry silly question. They're quite bad at replying, so I was wondering.

I heard from many people, they didn't get any confirmation email regarding the supporting document.

Hey Karmy, yes they replied back to me within 2 working days and apologised. I don't think it's mandatory for them to send a confirmation email after they receive the supporting documents. Below is the response I received from them after my email:

Dear xxxxxxxxx

Thank you for your enquiry, we apologise for the delayed response. Your supporting documents were recorded as being received on 16/04/2019, so you may already have received confirmation since your enquiry. If not then please accept this as confirmation.

Kind Regards,
yyyyyyyyyyy

Thanks,

Ron

hi Ronson

I don't suppose you can help me, can you tell me what you wrote on the enquiry? e.g

Hi did you receive my supporting docs?

So I can send them the same enquiry as well, as I think they didn't like the way I asked them last time.. lol! so they ignored me.

Hi Karmy,

I don't think it is right for you to ask them for sending you the supporting docs back unless you really need it and have a valid reason. They normally send the docs back when they are ready.

Below is how I constructed my enquiry to them-

1. Go to the link https://contact-ukvi.homeoffice.gov.uk/ ... ge/English

2. Fill in the details

3. Within the Enquiry box, write down the below details-

Hi there,

Please see the applicant's details below-

Full Name :
Date of Birth :
GWF number :
IHS number :
Passport number :
Biometrics was taken at : [Write down the address]
Type of Visa applied for : Settlement (Spouse) visa
Date of biometrics :
Nationality:
E-mail address used on application:
Supporting documents were sent to : [Write down the address]

Hi there, we sent the supporting documents to (address) on (date) via Royal Mail Special Next Day Delivery. I checked on the Royal Mail tracker and noticed that the documents were received and signed by you on the [date]. It has been [x] number of days since you have received the supporting documents but I am yet to receive any confirmation email from you, therefore I don't know whether the documents that I sent- was reached to the correct destination or not. Can you kindly give me an update on that?

Thanks,

XXXXX

Hi ronson

I emailed what you told me and this is what I got.

Dear Xxxxx,

Thank you for contacting UK Visas and Immigration International Contact Centre.

With regards to your enquiry about the status of your application, I can confirm that your application is being considered and is currently awaiting a decision.

Please note that the time frame for non- settlement applications is 15 working days or 60 working days for settlement applications.

We strongly recommend that you do not buy a non-refundable, non-flexible ticket to the UK, until your visa application has been approved and you have received your documents.

Regards,

Xxxx

My wife only took the general documents I mentioned above as they may ask to see these during the biometric appointment.

After her biometric appointment was completed, I sent all the supporting documents to the visa office.

Dear xxx

Thank you for contacting UK Visas and Immigration International Contact Centre.

With regards to your enquiry, the system shows that the application is under process. If your documents have not been received or they were sent to the wrong address, Home Office will contact you and request them.

Hi all,

Another update from me. I sent an email to UKVI asking for an update as it has been 62 working days since my wife has had her biometrics appointment for the UK Settlement Visa. Below is their response:

Dear XXXXXX,

Thank you for contacting UK Visas and Immigration International Contact Centre.

With regards to your enquiry about the status of the application, I can confirm that we have made a decision on your application. We cannot discuss the outcome of your application on-line or by telephone. However, the visa application centre will be in contact with your wife in regards to collection or delivery of her passport.

We strongly recommend that you do not buy a non-refundable, non-flexible ticket to the UK until the visa application has been approved.

Regards,
YYYYY

It looks like no one knows what the decision will be until the applicant actually go to the Visa Application Centre to collect the passport.

Thanks,

Ronson

Hi ronson,

It's like you said you will only find out when the applicant visits the application centre. Good luck, I'm sure everything will be good. Let us know once you receive the good news.

So this is way over 60 days for you! They really should have been in touch by now. If they accept online applications you'd think they'd be able to provide the decision online too.

I'm helping my brother and his wife with her application so I've been trying to find experiences specific to Bangladesh which is how I came about your posts. Her application will be submitted 01/08/19 or thereabouts.

If you have time, please kindly see my post and advise - immigration-for-family-members/passport ... 85151.html

Thanks

Hi Nadeem1992,

I received mine almost after 2 and a half months of sending the docs to them. It's only a week since you have sent to them. I suggest you should wait for a month after you have sent to them. Normally they send the docs back between two and four weeks.

Thanks,

Ron

Hi I was told if they didn't receive your docs, they would of contacted you. I'm on the same boat as you, till now I'm not sure if they have received my docs. I called several time they said if they weren't received HO would of contacted you by now.

I've read, some applicants receive their docs back after a decision has been made.
