And if you have not been 'living in a relationship akin to marriage' for minimum 2 years with ALL the cohabitation documentation to prove it, your application will likely be refused.

Char, it appears that the visa has already been granted.
@Spiderman007 what does the confirmation letter say?

Ahhh, lose the will sometime to trawl through the whole thread. Would the visa then be for 30/33 months?

P.S. I clearly need this upcoming 3 week holiday :?

Well as your wife has been issued with a 6 month visa, even though you selected 'unmarried partners' it seems that you've been given a fiance visa. You should be able to request a refund of the NHS surcharge, but she will need to have private medical cover until she's granted FLR(M) when you apply after the wedding.
I've just seen that your baby is due in October. I suggest that you marry as soon as possible and apply for FLR(M) in person at a PSC to avoid paying costs for the birth. You'll have to pay £500 NHS surcharge in addition to the FLR(M) visa fee , but this will cover her for all NHS treatment.

this is very strange, I paid the settlement visa fee.
As you said, apply on FLR(M),how come its possible to apply for further leave to remain if she has got faince' visa?I re read the conditions for simple fiance' visa,it costs only £87 and issues in 3 weeks time.Issued for 6 months and during this time, applicant has to register marriage and leave the country and apply for spouse settlement visa.this type of visa can't be extended in country.
Where as in my case i paid settlement visa fee, paid health surcharge and took nearly 3 months.
Pls advise what should i do? and what is wrong with my wife's visa?

Marriage visitor visa (leave the UK after the wedding) = £87

Fiance visa step 1 - marry within 6 months = £1195
FLR(M) visa step 2 - after the wedding apply for FLR(M) visa in the UK = £811 postal or £1311 if applied for in person at a Premium Service Centre

FLR(M) will grant your wife a 2.5 year visa. At the end of the 2.5 year period she will apply for a further 2.5 year extension before qualifying for ILR.

As it happens, nothing appears to be wrong with your wife's visa (even though you incorrectly selected 'unmarried partner'). However, you shouldn't have paid the £600 NHS surcharge at that stage. £500 NHS surcharge is only payable when you apply for the FLR(M) visa after the wedding.

You can try attaching the NHS surcharge reference as already paid...in fact you've overpaid by £100. Your wife can register with the GP but you'll have to explain the position and hope that they may be able to accept the surcharge reference. If not, you may have to pay privately for ante-natal treatment until the FLR(M) visa is granted, which is why I suggested you marry ASAP and submit your application.
A postal application may take up to 3 months to process, whereas if you apply in person at a Premium Service Centre (PSC) the visa should be granted on the same day (paying the premium fee).

HI Casa
My local surgery registered my wife as a new patient. Didn't ask for NHS surcharge juts a proof of address and passport.
Then,i went to local registrar office to register marriage and lady clerk refused to register me.Her argument was that am already married and have valid marriage certificate from Pakistan.I tried to explain but she refused.Do you have any idea what should i do?
regards

What visa did your spouse enter on, fiance visa or spouse visa?

If fiance visa, why did you tell the Registry office that you were already married and have a Pakistani marriage cert?

Try another Registry Office, submit the passport with the fiance visa and don't show your Pakistani marriage certificate, which as we know isn't valid here anyway.

Don't forget to pay for any NHS treatment you fiance has, as per the link I posted earlier in your thread. Unpaid NHS bills of a total of £500 and over, can mean a refusal of your fiances spouse visa until the bill is paid.

when i applied for my wife's Fiance' visa,i applied as a Fiance' settlement visa and did pay NHS surcharge at the time of application. So i do have a Immigration Health surcharge number.
Thanks for your advice,really appreciate.
