Certified copies

Post by Fizzy513 » Thu Jul 04, 2019 10:06 am

Hi I am applying for entry spouse visa. Are we required to get our passport coy certified/attested? If so does it have to be by a solicitor or can the post office do this? Thanks

No.
Hi thanks for the reply

So it will not make any difference whether it's been certified or not? As everyone I see sends the list of supporting docs and always mentions passport attested copy. Thanks

Hi thanks for the reply.

Just another quick question. I have submitted application on visa4uk. I have already printed application and my partner went to her biometrics appointment today.

However online it's still showing next step print application. Is this going to be a problem later on? As in when I send supporting documents next week. Thanks

It may keep saying same for a while because it allows you to reprint if you need again. Also keep in mind that procedure of sending supporting documents to sheffield has been replaced by scan & upload through applicant's/sponsor's local vfs centre.

Hi thanks for the help seagul. Do you know if I have to still send 2-4 passport sized photos of applicant? If so, how do we go about scanning them?

Hi Fizzy

I've also applied for my spouse's visa last week via visa4uk website. Theres a bit of confusion on whether to scan documents or send to Sheffield. Which approach are you taking? My solicitor has said that we are still able to post to Sheffield.

Hi I just opted to get he documents scanned at my local vfs application centre. Went there first thing and managed to get them all scanned quickly. The guy was nice and showed me the scans. They charged 75 pounds. I didn't want to post to Sheffield only for it to be returned and then have to go to vfs centre. I went tues and received confirmation email from ukvi stating they have received application (not docs) today.

Thanks for your reply?

Did you have to make an appointment or just pop in to the centre?

Also how long did it take you to get the next available biometric appointment?

I applied last week and there were no appointments for Islamabad so had to opt for Lahore which wad three weeks later

Hi The biometrics was booked for 12 days time from when I submitted the application. I didn't book appointment at vfs London. I just arrived first thing and was seen first. I'd try going first thing if u can as some people have had to wait for 4 hours.

Hi no problem at all. I asked so many people on here questions also. All scans need to be in colour.

I did take passport size pic but they didn't need but just take in case. They would keep passport at biometrics unless she keeps passport. I went Tuesday. I haven't had email with confirmation but I've heard sometimes it takes up to three weeks or you won't receive at all. Just today I received email saying it's being prepared for consideration so hopefully everything happens quickly. I did get a receipt for the payment and it has the gwf ref number. Again, I managed to see the scans hey uploaded. Not every single one but enough to realise it's gone through ok. But depending on location and person they don't always show. Hope that helps.

Thank you. Yes I emailed Home Office to get a formal answer as when I applied through visa4UK on my wife's biometric appointment it said I need to post the docs to Sheffield. Home Office replied very briefly and said the VFS service doesn't start till 1st August and I'll need to post the documents to the address my wife is provided at her Biometrics apppointment. At her appointment she was not provided with any address so I just posted the documents and they recieved yesterday as per Royal Mail tracking.
Hopefully this was the right way lol

Hi thanks for replying. I'm sure it will be fine. As I received an email and it stated to use vfs does this make a difference that I didn't post the documents but instead used vfs. Initially, I did receive email with address but more and more people were using vfs as some had received docs back so didn't want them to be returned.
