Spouse Visa (self submitting)

Post by urizwi » Wed Jan 13, 2021 1:08 am

Hi everyone, I'm new here and I would really appreciate your guidance!

My husband and I got married in 2018, we have a son who was born in the UK. I'm applying for his spouse visa...and I'm doing it all by myself. It's all new to me. You wouldn't believe the amount of reading I've done in the past few months!

I submitted the online application on the 2nd January 2021. I am still waiting on my bank statements to come through before I upload everything.

Please check my documents:

Applicant
1. Passport
2. NADRA card
3. English test
4. TB test

Sponsor
5. Copy of Passport (biodata page)

Financial requirement
6. Letter from employer
7. Payslips
8. Bank statements

Relationship
9. Cover letter
10. Nikahnama (marriage certificate)
11. Wedding card
12. photos (15)
13. Screenshots of chat history
14. Travel history (passport stamps)
15. Son's birth certificate
16. Son's passport
17. Money transfers

Accommodation
18. Council Tenancy agreement (parents)
19. Family's letter of consent

Am I missing anything? Is the council tenancy agreement enough? From what I read a housing report isn't necessary for council properties.

Could someone clarify if I can only book a biometric appointment after uploading the documents?

Sorry for the long post!

2. Is not required.

What is 19. family consent letter?

Note also that your supporting evidence must be dated on or before the date you apply online.

You should have only applied when you had all the bank statements.

For 18. you likely need a no objection letter from the landlord.

Thanks for replying.

I'm not sure if family consent letter is the right name. Basically it's a letter from my parents giving consent for us to live with them. They are council tenants, does the council provide a no objection letter?

Just to clarify, I do have 6 months worth of statements but I had to order paper ones. It turns out however that they are the exact same as the online ones. I know for a fact that paper statements usually have barcodes on them but these ones didn't (meaning Nationwide just printed off the online ones).

However Nationwide included a letter confirming my request of duplicates. Do you think the letter is enough or I should get them stamped?

You mentioned that supporting evidence should be dated before the date of application. I'm a little concerned now because the TB test is dated after the submission....Although someone told me they did the same thing and it was fine.

TB test is to be valid at time of application and I would also be thinking as per requirements it should not be dated after submission. Fingers crossed that its OK as per that someone.
We keep finding out about HOs flexibilities on certain things.

The TB test would still be valid as it expires after 6 months. I just hope it's not an issue that the certificate was issued after the submission.

Upon completion of the application, the further actions page tells the applicant to check if they need to do a TB test. This means that it is fine and expected to do it afer submission right?

I also have a question about the payslips. Mine were all sent online via email. They are on the employer's letterhead and include my address. Do they need to be authenticated with a letter or are they good?

Thank you!

Ideally to be done and dated before submission, while you claimed someone told you they had theirs as such, I can not state categorically HOs flexibility on this.

Upon completion of the application, the further actions page tells the applicant to check if they need to do a TB test. This means that it is fine and expected to do it afer submission right? See above response.

I also have a question about the payslips. Mine were all sent online via email. They are on the employer's letterhead and include my address. Do they need to be authenticated with a letter or are they good? An employer letter stating that the pay slips are genuine gives more credence and this is actually stated by HO as a requirement.

Thank you!

I appreciate your help! If anyone can clarify points made about accommodation that would be great.

Regarding the TB test I'm now tempted to withdraw the application altogether...

Hi is there a thread on here about how to upload documents on the VFS site? What document should go to which category.

Thanks.

Btw I asked a solicitor about the TB test issue. They said it is fine as long as it is valid. At least we know now.

Sorry but this is for the indefinite. I was looking for the spouse visa settlement visa from outside the UK. Is there a thread on that?

There's a guidance there on where to upload documents hence i think CR001 had sent you the link.

Yes it does provide a basic outline. But the problem is the categories listed are slightly different. For example on the VFS site there is no category for Proof of ID. I'm not sure where that would go, in sponsor evidence maybe?

When submitting photos is it better to add them one at a time or to compile them in a pdf file with annotations and dates?

You can compile and make annotations, ensure they are legible and within size limits.

Thanks.

What about passports?
My husband (applicant) will be submitting his passport at the appointment. Apart from the biodata page does he have to upload the whole passport including blank pages?

And the same for my passport. Only the biodata page or whole passport?

For sponsor, biodata page alone is sufficient.
For applicant, upload all pages of your passport.

I'm not sure if I've fulfilled the accommodation requirement.

I'm living with my parents in a 3 bedroom house (plus 2 sitting rooms downstairs). Including myself and baby there are a total of 5 people in this house (and I think a baby under 1 doesn't count, so 4 then?).

From what I've read house isn't overcrowded but I would like a second opinion.

This is a council property with the tenancy in my parents name. What evidence do I need to provide?

Children under the age of 1 don't count.
3 bedroom house can accommodate 5 people by law and also living room does count as bedroom.

You are overthinking it, you should be ok.
