My wife got this email today

Thank you for your enquiry and please accept our apologies for the delay in responding to you.
It is our busiest period and unfortunately, we are unable to make a decision on your application on our usual timescale.

Please do not go to the Visa Application Centre until you have received written confirmation that a decision has been made on your application and that your passport is ready to be collected. Staff at the visa application centres or contact centres have no influence on cases and cannot provide any further advice so we recommend you do not attend or call the contact centre.

We understand this will be frustrating to you and regret any inconvenience caused.
We will contact you as soon as we have made a decision on your application.

If you have any further enquiries, please visit our website at www.GOV.UK

Kind Regards

UKVI Contact Centre Service - UK Decision Making Centre

I made this enquiry before receiving the 31st email so i guess maybe its just automated.

Congrats on a decison being made!

I also called UKVI on Monday 9th Oct and they told me a decision had been made on Friday 6th Oct, however, I'm now also in the same situation as you which is waiting for them to email/text me telling me to pickup.

Question: Do our physical passports get sent to Sheffield and then sent back with the visa stamp or does it never leave the country from where you applied?

I'm just wondering why it's taking so long.

Hi
I believe the passport will be remain in the country where you apply. Only the documents send to the UK. They just waiting for the HO to contact them if your visa is approve or denied.

I been waiting since May.15
Apply from Philippines.

Update :(

I applied on April and recieved hold and not straightforward email in July. I also received the 31/10/2017 email at 6.44pm.

My application was refused because they didn't look at my application properly. They mentioned that I didn't not send the TB screening which we don't need to. Second reason, they mentioned that I am not exempt from meeting the financial requirements.

I just can't believe they held my application for 6 months without looking at my application properly. But alhamdillah for everything.

I will appeal against this decision :(
Good luck everyone.
Oh My days! I'm so sorry about this.

Hey guys
I thought I’d share my story with you

Applied for spouse visa mid January 2017- priority service paid for
1 email a few days later to say case has been received
After that no emails at all
Constant phone calls and constant emails sent to immigration by myself and solicitor, all which were ignored
Reply end of August-case was rejected

I’m looking to reapply for my spouse very soon. I’ve been reading on this forum and you guys are talking about an email about 31 October? Can somebody please tell me what this is about? As you guys know those who submitted early this year, 5000 such cases were on hold and were released from August 10 onwards. Does anyone know if there is any such hold currently? I know it is totally unpredictable but I wish to reapply within the next few weeks and if I know there’s such a hold I know what to kind of expect

Good luck to those who are awaiting a reply

I'm really sorry for your experience. After the supreme court judgement in February many applicants were put on hold but it was lifted in beginning August. There's also many who got case not straightforward so there's been many who waiting for months which they are aiming to clear by 31st October.

Depending from where you are applying. People from US/Canada currently getting decisions in 15 working days. Decisions from where they are still processing applications in country are even quicker. Rest of the world between 2/3 months also depending of it's priority or standard application. I am only giving a general idea for what I have read in recent weeks.

Good luck with new application.
Biometrics Karachi 04/08/17
Decision received 11/10 (Visa refused on subsisting relationship)
Acknowledgment 18/12/17
Deadline 02/04/18
Decision withdrawn 26/02/18
Decision overturned 29/03/18
PP submitted 3/4/18
Visa granted 9/4/18

TB screening is required if u have lived in a list of countries.

You won’t need a TB test if any of the following apply:

you’re a diplomat accredited to the UK
you’re a returning UK resident and haven’t been away for more than 2 years
you lived for at least 6 months in a country where TB screening is not required by the UK, and you’ve been away from that country for no more than 6 months.
If this applies for you u have to send them this so that they ll accept ur case.

This 31 October email everyone seems to be waiting on seems a little unrealistic. It seems many of you have got this email and ho have given themselves an unrealistic target of cases to reply to by then. I hope those who got the email by then do receive a reply but please do not pin all ur hopes on it. My case took 8 months, submitted January rejected end of August. I know the phone calls seem useless but please be as polite as possible on the call as I know of some people who received a escalation form via email to fill out and send back after a phone call. And when I called one of the ladies said she will make a further note and then record I have rang again and I am very concerened. I even received an email to say they are now doing something about it following the email so if you can, it is worth ringing up every 1-2 weeks to check if there is a change or will be expecting a reply

Did those of you who received 31st email submit ur cases whilst the hold was on around December January February time or did those who submitted cases in around May June July also receive 31st email?
Also did the email specify whether they will give you a reply by this date or did it say after this date they will work the case? Because with the Supreme Court case those that received on hold case got their case after the date they were told, not when it got up to the date

Kawal you just simply emailed them, wow, so it might be a chance that lots of cases have had a decision on them, but they never executed those decsion made emails, this explains HO clumsiness nature

Hi everyone,

I called today and the response has been the standard one.
My case is still awaiting decision.
Waiting since 15th March and case not straight forward. 7months are nearly over.
You guys can try calling in for an update. You might just be lucky.
I hope all of us get the visa by 31st Oct. It has been a difficult period for all of us.

Take care everyone.
