Hi Mash

Really? A friend said hers was showing as complete through out the whole way though? The other tracker keeps telling me my GWF number is not recogniseable?

Correct yes. Other members in other sub forums, like citizenship, have had updates showing the dates of their ILR being granted and stating 'decided' when they have only applied for citizenship 2 weeks ago (for example).

Hi guys,

there is a lot of confusion at the moment so I will add to it with my experience thus far in a hope to reduce confusion but probably only making matters worse!!

Application submitted: 19th April PRIORITY - St Petersburg, Russian Federation
Biometrics enrolled at : ST Petersburg, Russian Federation, 21st April
Supporting documents sent to Sheffield on : 4th May, received in Sheffield 5th May.
Supporting documents received back from Sheffield on : Not yet. Advised that this will be whenever they feel like sending them back to me!! Call 30th June
Sponsor contacted by UKVI (if applicable) : No, employer neither.
Contacted with 'decision made' : No
Contacted for Collection : No
Collection made : NA
Decision of Application : NA

So basically, 51 working days have passed today since day after Biometrics. My wife has never received an on hold email, we have no children involved in the application and I earn in excess of £70k per year basic salary for over 3 years with same employer. Normally I would not share that last piece of information but time to expel some myths.

1st email enquiry was 31st May = 26 working days since day after Biometrics. Told not even reached ECO and days counted begin from date of Biometrics.

2nd email enquiry was 7th June, no reply. Received an automatic email on Sunday 18th June from UKV&I stating they had answered our enquiry and inviting us to participate in the satisfaction survey! They never ever bothered to respond.

Contacted MP by email 20th June, told by MP that BY LAW they cannot get involved until 12 weeks - 60 working days - have passed. Anybody on here who says their MP is making enquiries before 12 weeks must have a very generous or very dishonest MP.

First call to UKV&I Friday 30th June = 48 working days on PRIORITY. Told

1) Our application is recognised as PRIORITY
2) My wifes application is with ECO, at the final stage, awaiting decision.
3) This means that some additional checks need to be made and don't know how long it takes.
4) It depends on how quickly the parties contacted respond.
5) Told that priority means you get to the front of the queue but could still take 26 weeks!!!!!!!!!
6) Given a log number. Told to use this next time I call as it will save time and help them find my wifes application more quickly.
7) They will send our documents back when they please, could be tomorrow, could be when they invite my wife to collect her passport or anytime in between.
8) They would not give me a refund for the email they did not respond to. Told me to go to gov.uk, complain and request refund there. Like I'm going to do that while they are assessing the application!

17 minutes total on call. Bye bye >£20.

Just to confirm what others have said, they block a £20 charge to your card but only take the cost of the call in minutes @ £1.37/min from your account. It's just they also make sure you are kept on the line for at least 10 minutes while they find your application

Second call to UKV&I today 5th July = 51 working days PRIORITY. Told......

1) Log number does not exist????????????? Asked for email address of Applicant - My wife
2) Counted days for application begin the day after Biometrics because some people attend in afternoon some attend in morning. Biometrics for us was a Friday morning but I always counted from the Monday following so no change to days elapsed on timer.
2) It goes without saying no decision
3) Told that priority means you get to the front of the queue but if after 60 working days - 12 weeks - you have not had a decision it can be escalated BUT ONLY AFTER 12 WEEKS - Same as MP - Interesting
4) You can request to have case escalated before 12 weeks but Sheffield will just ignore it and only process escalation from after 12 weeks.
5) Everything is taking longer because of additional checks due to recent "World Events" - So now my wife is considered a potential mass murdering terrorist lol BS
6) More interesting - Told they have ABSOLUTELY NO VISIBILITY ON APPLICATIONS except a) yet to be assessed, b) awaiting decision, c) open = on hold d) decided (but not decision)
7) The only way to get my documents back - my beloved passport that I need for my job - is to cancel my wifes application!!??

15 minutes total on call. Bye bye another £20.

So basically, two phone calls, two completely contradictory answers and no clue as to when this nightmare will end. My advice, do not even bother calling and feeding this purely money making machine. I know I did it but my reason was that I actually genuinely need my passport back for my job. Otherwise it was completely unneccessary and only achieved giving me peace of mind that they're a complete bunch of lying, useless, unprofessional BLEEPS!

The saving grace was I decided to voice record both conversations in full  Will be very happy to send this to my MP if I don't get decision in next 8 working days. Who konws where else I'll send it in the future lol

Cheers
Simon

Sorry to hear that simon. So they are looting money legal by fishing as "Priority Application".
I don't know how much priority application costs (additional £300- £400? )
@Simon Becareful about recording. As becoz recording is not legal in UK. I believe without the other party concern you cannot record. so please check on this before you submit call recordings.

I called UKVI contact centre today. Please take a look :-

me: My name is xyz.... my wife applied settlement visa on xx-dec-2016 and still.......
UKVI Advisor : can I have ref.no please ?
me : GWFXXXXXXXXXX
UKVI: Whats your wife's name please ?
me : my wife name is xxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
UKVI : Can you please spell out each word please ?
me : A for alpha, P for papa, w for whisky ............ ( 2 minutes over by the time I spelled out my wife's long name)
UKVI: Can I have her Passport number
me : NXXXXXXX
UKVI : sorry whats the first letter M?
me : No its N. N for November
UKVI : can I have her IHS No?
me : IHS No? I have given you GWF ref.No. can you please pull details based on that.
UKVI : sorry recently they have upgraded software so cant get that
me : IHSXXXXXXXXXX ( By this time already 10 minutes gone i.e 10 X 1.37 = 13 charged..)
UKVI: what date she had applied?
me : on XX-DEC-2016.
UKVI: please wait system is loading all the details ......Got it .Your app status is awaiting decision.
me : last time when called same status can you please let me know why such delay.
UKVI :That's really too long. More than 140 working days. Can you please holdon . I will have word with my Senior manager and will see why this has taken so long.
me : Ok please do something
(This time she put me onhold and after 12 minutes she was back)
UKVI : Sorry for keep waiting so long . My mgr asked me to escalate your case.
me : Already they escalated 4 times. this going to be 5 th time ....( frustrated and @#%~)
UKVI : to be honest that's what we (contact centre) can do. Nothing much in our hands. we are just middle man between you and Sheffield home office. whatever they(sheffiled ho) update in our systems that we update to you. that's is. we are really sorry.
me : ok bye. ( 32 minuts over )

if you see the above conversation the only one useful point. ESACALATED. that's it . rest of the conversation crap. I spent 32 minutes( charged £42) today. like this I have called them 4-5 times since March. Now I decided not to call anymore. they are useless bunch. We all are just pouring money into their treasure bottle. (great idea by Theresa May) .
Planning to contact my Solicitor today. Anyone contacted their solicitors please share and advise.

Hi there

First time I'm using this forum.

Looking for some help.

I applied for my husbands settlement visa on 03.04.2017 and paid extra to fast track. We have had no reply but someone who applied afterwards for his wife has received his reply. Similar circumstances as we work for the same company.

I received the confirmation email and documents have been returned. Unable to use the online tracker. I've already had to phone them where they charge you to speak to an advisor which I think is wrong because of the amount of fees we already paid.

I have even got my MP involved but no reply still. My lawyer refuses to do anything and says we just have to wait but we are getting no response from the Immigration at all.
Any advise?

Thank you M

Great news! My wife had her biometrics appointment on 27 February and it still is awaiting a decision. The application has been awaiting a decision since 17 may. 90 working days were up yesterday and have no clue what ukvi are playing at. It's beyond frustrating....

As the sponsor I more than comfortably meet the income threshold, own a 5 bed home, employer is more than genuine with all payslips, bank statements matching plus a p60 and employment letter and the rest of it

Good advice about the recording. Priority is now additional £551. Thanks for sharng the transcript of the call. Pretty similar to both my calls. Most of the time spent finding the application then no useful information and simply negative feedback.

You are actually way over the 26 week, 130 day limit for application. Did you ever receive the on hold mail? Have you tried your MP. Apologies if you've answered these questions elsewhere in the thread and I've missed them.
I'm not an expert and only answer from my personal experience and understanding of the rules. Spouse Settlement Visa Granted for my wife July 2017. You should not take my advice as absolute.

Hi anna,

Did you pick up your passport and did you get your visa.
Sorry for the late reply, but yes I did get my visa after a little over 60 days! :)

You will get yours soon! (Edit: Just saw that you got yours! Congrats! :D )

Also just want to confirm that seeing 'Complete' on your online application doesn't mean it's been decided. Mine has always been Complete from the moment I submitted my online application. Good luck tho guys! :)

First call to UKV&I Friday 30th June = 48 working days on PRIORITY.

17 minutes total on call. Bye bye >£20.

Second call to UKV&I today 5th July = 51 working days PRIORITY. Told......

15 minutes total on call. Bye bye another £20.

So basically, two phone calls, two completely contradictory answers and no clue as to when this nightmare will end. My advice, do not even bother calling and feeding this purely money making machine. Otherwise it was completely unneccessary and only achieved giving me peace of mind that they're a complete bunch of lying, useless, unprofessional BLEEPS!

Cheers

All to familiar with this Simon. My downside is my wife applied just over a week after your spouse so i know i still have a few weeks left yet before i get a decision.

I have noticed on the visa processing times website gives for some interesting reading with the new data from May 2017.

https://visa-processingtimes.homeoffice ... settlement

Now Minsk is showing as 33% after 30 days however this was at 66% for February 2017!

Obviously something at the home office is slowing them down!

My personal opinion (but i may be totally wrong) is i know they had to pend thousands of cases due to the high court ruling on the financial requirement which of course now means they have to go back and re-look at all them cases which i can imagine being a slow process and would take priority over newer cases hense why we are stuck in the middle waiting ages for our applications to be decided.

Wishing everyone all the best with this absolute joke of an application process !
