If the endless waiting and uncertainty is not enough, the worst case scenario is when 24 weeks from the date the bio-metrics were submitted will arrive while the pause will remain.
As I can only assume from the home office conduct so far they can operate in the following manners:

1. Reject the application and tell you to re apply when the pause is over, of course with no refund.
2. Hold the application (and passport) for more than 24 weeks until the pause will end. That way they force the applicants to withdraw their application if they want their passport back.

I wonder if there is anything the applicant can do legally to handle those dreaded worst case scenarios.
Any thoughts?

Hey Raj,
Did you speak to enquiry service or someone more certified? For my understanding, the supream court has already made a judgement on UKSC 10 [2017], so what will happen at the end of June?

Hello
She basically said that by end of June they will try clearing as many applications as they can.
As they can't keep applications on hold more then 30 weeks coz of some other reasons :/
Idk how much truth in this or how much crap lol

My fiancé applied via the priority service in April, had his appointment at the embassy in Lima 3rd may, then received this email last Friday. This is so upsetting and I don't think they realise how much it's playing with people's lives. I don't understand what or how long we are waiting for. And the most infuriating thing is the lack of clarity from the home office.

Did you do something to get those updates? or was it triggered by the home office? The only email I got was at the beginning of April stating that "... has paused decision making... to consider the implications of...".
Did you use the enquiry service?

Hello guys, it is really frustrating without reliable info as to why the application is put on hold for more than 3 months and no specific further timeline!

I applied from Ahmedabad, India and my husband's salary is much more than the threshold set still they say application is not straight forward. Don't know what's the issue with HO or UKVI!!!

It really sucks!!!

Hey Rvg 1212 ,
1: Can you please inform when were your biometrics and did you or your employer get any inquiries call from HO ?

2: Did you also receive 2 emails App on hold while other not straight forward?

Your reply would be much appreciated!

I would also like to request all other users to please keep posted whenever anyone gets their Application concluded so atleast we know if the hold has been put off .
Regards

Hey Guys,
Is there anyone here that both the sponsor and the applicants don't live in the UK and their financial requirements are met from salaries outside of the UK?
I'm afraid that they will treat the situation as the sponsor and the applicant (myself) don't have any income at all and would just reject the application as soon as the pause will be over.

Im confused on this situation. Is there a pause on ALL applications? And do we know when this pause may be lifted? My partner is Peruvian, we applied in April via the priority service and put his expected arrival into the UK as 1st June but this obviously isn't going to happen with this pause in place. We didn't meet the income requirement by job alone, it was made up by savings too but I thought this was allowed? In total my income including savings is £22,000 so well over. I used a solicitor on this application who obviously was sure everything was okay with the application. I just want a bit of clarity on the situation because putting our lives on pause for an un known amount of time kinda isn't acceptable.

What is your annual salary and what is the level of savings you have used?

I applied for an unmarried partner visa. My partner and I been in a relationship in the UK over 4 years, I moved to Ghana and applied late February 2017. I received receipt confirmation via email from sheffield on 1st March.

I havent received anything since - its only through this forum im hearing about this hold so ive also emailed my lawyer in london to findout more about it.

Should I be worried? My partner earns £30k. I have been rejected before while i was in the UK as i lived there over 10years but was unable to get a "private life - indefinite leave" visa (no extenuating circumstances). Bar that im a squeeky clean dude, stayed in the UK over 10 years, been a relationship for over 4 years - stayed with my partner over 2years - had to make out of country app (which i was advised was my best option) so i did and now this hold thing has come up.

Should I be worried?

Thanks

Also, how long can they legally hold an application before making a decision? I've read anything from 24-30 weeks, which is a very long time for them to keep a passport.
