family certificate from NADRA

Post by Qismat » Wed Jan 20, 2021 7:32 pm

Hi guys,

I am planning to get married soon from Pakistan and had few questions.

from what I read, in addition to lots of other documents, I will NIKAH NAMA in Urdu and English attested from foreign ministry and notary public as well as family certificate from NADRA .

My question is that to get "family certificate from Nadra" do I need National Identity Card of both her and her father or her NIC would suffice ? Also, being the groom I presume I don't need my father's NIC ?

My second question is, can she study and obtain "English A1 certificate" before our nikah to speed up the process ? Also, how long does the certificate last before it expires ?

My third question is, what's the difference between "UKVI English A1 certificate" and "English A1 certificate"

Best regards
Qismat

Does your wife wants to keep the maiden name or your name after marriage?

As long you have the marriage certificate registered with Nadra, all you need is your’s and her’s NIC to get a family registration certificate as far as I know.

Thanks Cullinan. How do I get my marriage registered with Nadra ?

Also, the reason why I was thinking I need her father's NIC is because what I read on the below webpage:

You will have to get your Nikkah Nama registered with Nadra in Pakistan to get a marriage certificate. You will have to contact Nadra.

After marriage, you also have to get your wife’s/your NIC updated with relationship status. You can leave it out for yourself if you wish but it is good practice. For your wife, it would be necessary as it would replace father’s name with husband’s name. Also same on updated Pakistani passport, father name will be replaced with husband name.
I am not sure if the above steps can be carried out before or after registering Nikkah Nama with Nadra and before issue of marriage certificate. You will have to check with Nadra. Their customer care service in Islamabad is pretty efficient. You can even contact them from UK.

Ok, I see. That's very useful information as I wasn't sure if I needed to do that. Do you have contact details for Nadra customer service in Islamabad please ?

https://www.nadra.gov.pk/contact-us/

As of my knowledge:

1. You get a marriage certificate from nadra by submitting your nikah nama
2. Wife NIC updates with husband name instead of father name. No need to change her maiden name.
3. Husband NIC is updated for marital status.
4. Passports of both husband and wife are to be updated as were NICs
Only doc required for NIC/passport updation is the marriage certificate issued by nadra.

Great, thank you.

I just wanted to clarify something as well please. She currently doesn't have a passport neither a NIC. Is it worth her making a passport and NIC before the nikah and we can adjust her NIC and passport with husband name after nikah ?

Or does she need to have NIC and passport made before nikah ?

No. It would be a waste then. If she does not have a NIC or passport made, it is best to get both made in your name after marriage. Otherwise, you will have to pay twice which is not necessary.

Note, she must have a CRC number i.e. a Child Registration Number with Nadra. Her parents would have registered her with Nadra. Assuming she is 18+ now, the same CRC number will be converted into NIC number.

I just found out she doesn't have a CRC with Nadra. She's got a normal birth certificate. Does she need to apply for CRC ? She's 20 years old

You need to contact Nadra and ask for the next steps. A CRC can not be issued to an adult. She will be able to apply for a NIC but maybe she will need to get it made first on her father’s name (she would need her parent’s NIC and birth certificate) now before it can be replaced on husband’s name after marriage. I am not sure about the correct steps though.

Also for a NEW NIC she will have to visit the Nadra centre in person. It can not be done online like renewals etc. It is good that she gets it made sooner (on father’s name) to avoid delays after marriage. Modifications later on (husband name) are quicker.
But Nadra call centre will let you know the correct procedure.

Just found out:

https://www.nadra.gov.pk/identity-requirements/

Choose this and documents needed will be generated.

Thanks, I've checked the requirements. I suppose if she get a Nadra ID card she will not need CRC ? Or does she need both ?

She can not get a CRC now. CRC is only issued to children. She only needs a NIC now.

Post by Qismat » Wed Apr 07, 2021 5:10 am

Asalam alaykum

I have got married recently from Pakistan and currently have the following documents:

- Her Nadra card and passport with me as husband
- I have Urdu nikah Nama conducted by her local imam
- Now I will register her to obtain ILETS English.
- I also have wedding photos.
- I am aware I need payslips, employer documents, bank statements

What else do I need to apply for her visa application from UK ?

Applying for spouse visa from Pakistan

Post by Qismat » Sat Apr 17, 2021 2:59 pm

Hi guys,

Due to Pakistan Being added to Red list I'm stuck in Pakistan and currently remotely working from here. My wife is attending IELTs English class and hopefully she will pass it in couple of weeks. I am here until end of May at least so was wondering if I can apply for her visa by sending her application to home office from here by priority application with hope that she can obtain her visa before I travel back to UK ?

Best Regards

Qismat, you haven't clarified you residency status.

I am of the idea the process and docs. required vary on your status. I am myself in Skilled worker visa (previously Tier2) and in the same situation as you, in UK atm. I will be applying for my wife's visa soon, my concern was whether they are even giving out visa's while Pakistan is in the red list.

So the VFS updated their page the day Pakistan was added to red-list:
https://www.vfsglobal.co.uk/pk/en/news/ ... n-pakistan

Looks like they are, and the only delays they have stated are for visitor visas. I will still try to get hold of VFS team and inquire about the status of new visas. Tel # for VFS Pakistan, the dept. that deals with UK is +92518439351.

Anyway, regarding the requirements list, for me particularly, I don't think my wife needs to sit in IELTS or prove her english abilities, nor do I need my payslips (I suppose). I have my COS & Sponsor # and that should be enough, besides which we need £285 statement for 28days to show as maintenance.

Could someone be so kind to confirm? I have been following this:
https://www.gov.uk/skilled-worker-visa/ ... d-children
