Immigration history - might it be reason to reject my PSW?

Post by pparev » Tue Sep 07, 2010 9:04 pm

Hi guys,

I will be applying in a few weeks for my Tier 1 (post study work) visa here in the UK.

I meet all the conditions and requirements. However there is a condition regarding immigration history that worries me a bit, so I would like to consult with the rest and get your opinion.

I am a national of a country which does not require visas to enter the UK as a visitor, and I have two passports (because I filled the pages of the first one before its expiration).

My immigration history is as follows:

1. I applied for my Tier 4 visa before arriving to the UK from my home country. Left passport 1 at the UK Embassy with my application.

2. I flew to the UK with my passport 2, and at the border I explained to the immigration officer that I already had applied, and that in case I would get my visa I would proceed to start my studies, otherwise I would head back home. I entered the UK on Sept 2009.

3. I got an email from the UK Visa services stating that my Tier 4 visa was issued on Sept 18 2009

4. Classes officially started on Sept 21 2009

5. Someone authorized by me retrieved passport 1 from the UK embassy in my home country in early October 2009

6. That authorized person traveled to the UK and handed me passport 1 with the Tier 4 visa stamped on it in early November 2009.

7. I left the UK in mid November 2009 for three days and got back with my Passport 2, and showed the Tier 4 visa stamped on passport 1. Was held for a while and had to explain to the immigration officer everything I have posted here above. Finally the officer agreed on leaving me to enter as a student, stamped my Tier 4 visa and activated it.

8. Entered the UK and have left several times after that (holiday, weekend trips in Europe) with my Passport 2, always showing my Passport 1 with the Tier 4 visa in it.

Do you think the UK Border Agency will have reasons to refuse my Tier 1 post-study work visa application for my immigration history as explained here?

Thanks in advance
