Immigration Slow down in Foreign Post.....Limited Quota...?

Post by varunbose » Mon Sep 13, 2010 7:54 am

Hai all,

I am from Dubai, UAE. I was looking forward for an Australian Spouse Visa (subclass 309), and I made my Visa application Lodging on 6th Sep 2010. I got help from an agency in Australia for my application. I had submitted all documents including Medical and PCC, all in one go..

I am an Indian and my wife is also same. My application is offshore application as I am working in Dubai and is done in Visa application center in Dubai, UAE. My wife is working in Australia on PR since 2nd July 2010.

My question is like this...

My agent told me that I have to wait 8-10 months for the visa as a result of the reform of immigration law during election. They are saying that there is a new policy to slow down the Foreign Post application processing and limited the quota for Foreign Post...

Foreign post means Visa processing offices outside Australia...

I am posting the mail from my agent...

"
There is an update to the latest processing arrangements for Partner applications.

We have just been advised that the Minister has given the overseas delegations / posts a quota for how many partner applications they can finalise each month.

The overseas offices have been given instruction that applications should not be finalised in less than 6 months due to quotas.

Each overseas post processes in accordance with the case load they receive. According to the latest processing arrangements through Dubai , Partner visa applications are now estimated to take 8-10 months.
"
I searched for this news in websites...i did't get any info like that...

Do any of you can give me any idea about this policy which make partners apart for nearly 1 year. ?

Any hint on this issue, will be highly appreciated.

Thanks,
with regards,
Varun Bose K
