UK Immigration

My mom and her husband have been investigating immigrating to the United Kingdom but because of their ages and the fact that they are South African citizens, they are having difficulty finding a way to do this.

My mom is 51 and her husband is 63.

My husband and I along with our 2 children will be immigrating to the UK in July (my husband has Italian citizenship and I will be immigrating on a VAF5 family permit).

My mom's husbands 2 daughters both have british citizenship as they have both been working in the UK for many years. His son and wife are also working in London and will be applying for permanent citizenship once they have been there for 5 years.

Please would you send me all options and requirements if any for my mom and her husband to immigrate to the UK - our whole family will be there soon and my mom and her husband will be in South Africa alone.

My mom is physically and mentally fit to work and has been working for approximately 34 years.

Given their ages - they'll need to qualify in their own right for a visa.

I wonder if it's possible that your mum+husband might also qualify for family permits by virtue of S.7 of the EEA 2006 Regulations thus:-

"7.—(1) Subject to paragraph (2), for the purposes of these Regulations the following persons
shall be treated as the family members of another person—
(a) his spouse or his civil partner;
(b) direct descendants of his, his spouse or his civil partner who are—
(i) under 21; or
(ii) dependants of his, his spouse or his civil partner;
(c) dependent direct relatives in his ascending line or that of his spouse or his civil partner;"

The killer is probably the word "dependent" but it could be worth consulting a properly-qualified immigration advisor just to make sure what your options are.
