immigration through work or family?

Post by jimmyknowles » Mon Aug 20, 2007 1:03 pm

hello. i was hoping someone might be able to offer me some advice.

my wife is an american citizen and i'm a UK citizen and we live in the UK. i'm an environmental scientist who works for a company with offices in the US and we wish to move the states.

having browsed through the USCIS website it seems to me i have 2 choices, either immigration through employment or immigration through a family member.

as such i was wondering which of the 2 options is preferable / quicker and if anyone has a rough ball park figure for timescales.

any comments greatfully recieved

Family is a lot quicker, and doesn't require you to have a job offer or any other requirements. Look at the US embassy in the UK website for more details - family system is a lot easier.
