Hi
I am a qualified accountant working for a leading public practice firm in the South East. For completeness, I can state that my current work permit expires in late 2006. Although my current salary exceeds £40k, my cumulative salary in the immediate past 12 months is only about £39k.
Since early this year, I have been working on a part-time basis for a small firm which offers basic accountancy services. The part-time employment, which involves no more than spending one or two Saturdays every month, has generated about £2k of income in the last 3 months. This part-time income is, of course, subject to PAYE / NIC deductions.
1. Would it be possible to amalgamate the income from my main and part-time employment for the purpose of the HSMP application? As a work permit holder, I believe that I am allowed to undertake ‘supplementary employment’ provided that certain conditions are met.
2. As part of the application process, is it sufficient to provide pay-slips from both jobs PLUS, as an added measure, copies of bank statements to confirm the receipt of the abovementioned monthly salaries?
3. Do I have to submit my passport when applying? If not, at what stage do I have to submit it bearing in mind that it is an in-country application?
4. What are the points which my existing employer needs to include in their reference letter?
Thanks.
