Hi,
Looking to apply for citizenship in a couple years (applying for ILR now). Regarding the Good Character section, I have a few questions. I've read Chapter 18, Annex D on the requirement (9 Dec 2013 edition).
1. Council Tax: What evidence do I need to show to prove it's paid? My partner pays it, not me, though both our names are listed on the yearly invoice.
2. Council Tax: The invoice the borough sends me uses a short version of my first name rather than long form (e.g. Matt instead of Matthew). Will this be a problem?
3. NI/PAYE: I'm a PAYE employee of my own company. Except for my first year, PAYE/NI was nil. I've recently started paying some NI/PAYE again. By the time it comes to apply for citizenship, I would have 2 maybe 3 years of PAYE/NI. Will it be a problem that some years I paid no NI/PAYE?
4. Finally, does being a PAYE employee of my own company make me self-employed? From an accounting perspective I'm working for a Ltd, but don't know how UKBA treats it?
If it matters, I entered originally on a UK Ancestry visa.
Thanks!
