inconsistent question in the naturalisation form

Post by passerby » Mon May 19, 2025 11:43 pm

I am currently filling the form and towards the end it ask whether I comply with the residence requirements

"Do you meet these residence requirements?"
Answer : Yes

Then it asks me
"Are there any reasons why you cannot meet the requirements to become a British citizen (for example, you have had too many absences from the UK)?"
why is this relevant since I qualify. Answering yes or no implies that I dont qualify

Then, it asks a similar question
"If you do not meet the statutory requirements to become a British citizen, are there any special circumstances why you think the Home Secretary should still grant your application?"

I would like to leave it blank but it forces you to choose yes or no.

Am i overthinking this? shall I just answer no to the last 2 questions?

Thanks buddy. I will do the same. (they should really reword those questions)

also do you list the trips from the last 5y only. meaning from May 2020 to now?

Yes, all your trips abroad for the last 5 years (or 3 years if married to a British citizen). No need to mention any trips that were for 2 days or less (because the days of exit and entry do not count).
If the trip was mixed (i.e. in my case - a trip through 18 countries by car from the UK and back, I only mentioned the destination point)
