Indefinite is after 4 or 5 years?

Post by Bukhari » Mon Jul 25, 2005 12:54 pm

Hi,
I got extension for 3 years and on letter from HO stated like this;
You may apply for Further Leave to Remain before the expiry of this period. They haven’t mentioned for indefinite.
But according to HSMP after 4 years stay in UK can apply for indefinite.
So anyone can plz clear it that we can apply for indefinite after 4 years stay or indefinite is only granted after 5 years according to new immigration policy?

Regards
Bukhari

We don't know yet, as the new immigration policy pertaining to ILR hasn't yet been finalised.

Thanks bani,
If HO implements that ILR will be granted after 5 years stay in UK then it will effect from date of announcement and onwards or it also applies to pervious cases.
Many Thanks

Naeem
