Indefinite leave to remain- gap in visa

Post by Immig10 » Sun Sep 26, 2010 7:21 pm

I’ve been working in the UK on work permit since Jan 2006. I have a gap of about a month in the visa and I’m wondering whether I’d be eligible for ILR in Jan 2011. The current work permit was issued on 14 Nov 2008. The limited leave to remain prior to that expired on 30 Oct 2008. I went to India in the third week of Oct 2008 and when I applied for extension of the visa I was told that this could be done only in the UK. So, my employer (very generously!) applied for a new work permit which, as I mentioned earlier, was issued on 14 Nov 2008. I applied for visa again in Nov 2008 while in India and the new UK visa was issued to me on 26 Nov 2008 and I re-entered the UK on 2 Dec 2008. I would be a great help if someone could advise me on when I would be eligible to apply for the ILR. Many thanks.
