Thank you CR001

For a child to be eligible for settlement , any of the below condition must be met

a) Both parents are either settled or applied for settlement
b) one parent has sole responsibility
c) one parent is alive
d) any other compelling reason for child to be allowed to stay in Uk.

Pls clarify what type of reasons are considered as compelling reason for set m consideration ?

Your dependents do NOT qualify for ilr on form SET M.

The child will follow the same immigration path as your spouse. There is no shortcut route.

Thankyou CR001, sorry I have wrongly stated as set m .
I’m asking for child settlement application and not for spouse at this point of time , the child has already spend 10 years with lot of absences exceeding 180 days .

The form that I was talking about is MN1 form , pls refer page number 15 in MN1 form that tells about few exceptions covered under exceptional circumstances and Home Secretary can exercise discretion considering the benefit for the child and supporting evidences, can you please advise if child qualifies for settlement if there are strong supporting evidences for Home Secretary’s consideration, can I file this application along with my set lr application?

MN1 ?? MN1 is the form to register a child for British citizenship not settlement. Why are you looking at that form? Non-UK born children do NOT have any entitlement to British citizenship. Your child, as pointed out to you before, MUST follow the immigration path of the less privileged parent and settle with that parent.

In the case of your child SET(F), SET(M) and SET(LR) will all fail. Your child cannot be granted ILR unless both parents are settled :!:

Understood! Thank you Zimba and CR001

For financial requirement for FLR M , Is there any minimum time duration to hold £22k funds deposited in dependant’s bank account prior flr m application submission or will they accept my bank statement with a sponsorship letter and how long the funds should be kept in bank account prior to application ?

Whether any cover letter is required to prove the source for the funds if made available in dependants bank account ?

Please post your FLR M questions in the family immigration sub forum. They are not relevant to the ilr topic or sub forum.

Financial evidence has to be provided for a minimum of 6 months.
