Just to add the official guideline to this thread too.

UKBA professes that they undertake to process 95% of all applications within 26 weeks. What they probably mean is 95% of applications will require more than 26 weeks. This would be more in line with the tracking data we have here and the experience I have had of other people who've applied. I know of nobody who has received their ILR within 6 months so far (in 2010 for 10 year ILRs), save for that dude off the other forum who got his MP to work miracles.

ILR - 10 year category

Post by thms » Mon Mar 01, 2010 2:04 pm

I submitted my application 2nd September 2009 and still waiting. Its exactly six months today and the telephone officer at the home office told me today that the time scale indicated on the website is merely guidelines and not exactly followed.

I applied on 17/08/09 and is still waiting: now 28 weeks and 1 day.

My MP has checked the progress for me for the second time. The responses I have is "my case is under active review. However, they cannot tell when the decision can be made due the complex immigration background." This is the same response with oluwa's.

I also just called the UKBA and they tell me my case is handled in Livepool currently.

depressingly received reply on 16/02 application is currently in a queue awaiting consideration by Liverpool Immigration Casework, but has not yet been allocated to a case owner.

is anyone know that is this a last stage before receive passport back?

what a rediculous excused stated for length of time it has taken to process the application, this is due to the unprecedented high volumes of applications which were being received at the time the application was submitted.

rang HO last week, still not decided yet. devastated.said my application over Six months, why still not decided yet? what i been told was 5% will fall outside six months, seem everyone having a same situation. disappointed that website do not indicated 5% how long have to wait after...

Eventually, Wrote to MP last week, hope will get response soon.

Wish all in Lucks.

I think being in the queue is the stage you're at permanently over the 6 months+.

The last stage and the point at which you should get hopeful is when they give you the reply that your application has been assigned to a caseworker and is therefore being treated. At that point, depending on complexity of the case, you'd probably expect a result within 1-2 weeks.

It sounds like your application is still in the queue though, probably like most of ours anyway. I get the feeling that all these ILR applications are being mixed with the asylum ones as well - no proper organisation whatsoever. I'm personally getting rather desperate as the days go by and considering just ringing them and asking for my passport back.

received replied from my MP:
"I have now checked with the parliamentary helpline. It appears that your case is with the appropriate caseworking unit, but has not yet been allocated to a caseworker. This is not because there is any problem with your case, it is just sheer volume. I note that you have booked flights on two occasions expecting to have your passport in time. However, all information provided by the Agency does say that no travel plans should be made until your documents are returned to you. However, it is now noted on the system that THE MP is involved in your case and I will try and keep abreast of developments".

seem like my case still has not yet been allocated to case owner....which meant i have to wait longer now. nightmare....thinking to surrender and requesting passport next end of the month if still not decided yet. waste of time.

Was any reason given why same day premium service was withdrawn for people applying under 10 years continuous legal stay and people falling under this category are now being asked to apply only by post?

All I read was a directive that from 1st Jan 2010 people under this 10 years category can only apply for ILR by post.

I thought I will give my waiting time as well. Very straight forward ILR application under 10 years rule. Applied on 24 August 2009. UKBA was very quick in taking the money. Since then have not heard from them. Application pending more than 6 months.

Apparently the delay is due to “unprecedented high volumes of applications which being received and this has affected our published service standardsâ€

I think the 10 year ILRs are handled by the same people who deal with asylum applications; which is probably part of the reason WP ILRs wait on average 10-15 weeks and 10 year settlers 30 weeks (an optimistic target)?

Here is the updated tracklist. Chaps, when you repost this, can you please update the wait times for the previous candidates as well so we can track at a glance. Otherwise, the numbers are not in any order, not that ordering them makes it any less wearisome to look at :( - I've also rounded the weeks down or up.

Hi Foxy, Thanks rearrange and update the no of weeks for us.

Depressingly i am in 2nd of the list, almost 7 months, still no news at all, really frastrusting n dont know what can do now. thinking to write to PM Gordon Brown and home secretary explain the inaccuracy of UKBA website published the service standards waiting times and do not indicate the minority of 5% applicants how long have to wait. we all legally and lawful stay within 10 years and submitted under SET(O) and should be treated same timeline like other categories in SET (O). why we being treated like Asylum case with no timeline provided, perhaps even worse than asylum case, some asylum case gained ILR within 6 months, asylum people even can check and track online. but as lawful applicants have to suffer for waiting keep in darkness with no information can provide. i will put myself in formally complaint the whole points.

Hi, I am the third in the list.

I just called the enquiry line to check the progress and they told me my case is now being reviewed by a case worker. I hope this will make some real progress.

Hopefully some good news in the next week or two!!

One positive thing is that your case has now been assigned. The rest of us are still being fed the usual drivel of our case still being "in progress" with no additional info available.
