Hello Guys,

Really depressed reading many pages of this particular topic here.
I applied on 28th August, 2012, and haven't even received a biometric invitation yet. Looks like a LONG waiting time ahead :(

Hi,
Parents will be visiting UK in summer, and my GP says they are seen free of charge if they have health insurance covered from india and may be charged for prescription ? Is that true. ?

When i asked my GP to name any Indian insurance provider for cover, she said she has no idea about it, as she came to know while dealing with patients like that, and as i accidentally asked her she revealed it for a good cause.

Does any one know about which health insurance to cover NHS, Prescription free ?

Damanishallo or Spidery_Thread or anyone who knows:
I have 2 questions..
First is how to apply british passport for my baby. My baby was born in UK a year ago and does not have any visa since then. My lawyer told I can apply for her British Passport directly once I receive my ILR. If anyone knows how to apply for british Passport for child born in UK and which form is to submit and how long it takes to process.

Second Question is for me to apply for my British Passport, how long should I wait after my ILR approval date? My ILR application process took more than 7 months. Should I now wait for 1 more year or these 7 months can be excluded from that 1 year? I have heared something about this rule somewhere on this blog but not sure. Can anyone confirm or tell where can i get information from?

Firstly, you need to register your child as a British citizen, and the current cost is £551/ child and £887 for 2 children
and you also need, the following

• Completed application form MN1
• Child’s full UK birth certificate (showing child and parent’s details)
• Evidence that at least one parent has either indefinite leave to remain, a
permanent residence card or is a British citizen;*

and, although not necessary

• If the parents are married, it may be useful to supply the marriage certificate.

hi, congrats for getting ILR
for british passpost you have to wait another year from the ILR date of approval, your waiting time(7months)doesnt count toward 1 year wait.

Just a quick question:

I have been told that the naturalisation procedure is going to change in the next months for those who got ILR, is that true?
Sent my application in January for ILR, 1 month down! 5 to go?

Have a nice day everyone

I hope the first question is answered. Now WRT the above query. You can apply 8 months from now under Paragraph 7.5g if you believe your case was protracted by no fault of yours.

hi, congrats for getting ILR

I think it is fair to remember the 15 months rule:
Read here (Page 15 item g);

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... iew=Binary

beginning of the 12 month period, and the other statutory requirements, including the other residence requirements, are met, only if : (....)

"g. consideration of an application for indefinite leave to remain, made more than 15 months before the citizenship application, had been protracted through no fault of the applicant, providing ILR was eventually granted."

This tells me Nats can apply 15 months after 13.07.2012, that is 13.09.2013. He does not need to wait for another year.

more info in this link for UKBA take on this matter:

http://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/1 ... e.pdf.html

I intend to use this rule although they are making no promises.

long residence settlement

Post by kutub8090 » Fri Mar 01, 2013 11:51 am

hi everyone
just to share frustration with all of you.
this is the first time i am so upset after i made a call to HO today about my application ( though several time i called them).

i have been asked " did i call to HO before?", i replied: yes. Then asked when. i replied: last week. and then asked " why i called Today".

after taking my details: " your application is NOT complete yet."

finally gentleman told me " Dont call HO, HO will contact you".
the language of the conversation from Gentleman really make me very very upset. i never face this sort of voice here.

if we have no right to call HO , then what should we do know, as my application is more than 6 month now, and why they have option for call to them if any application is more than 06 month.
pls pray for me, i pray for every one.
thank you.

I recently emailed my MP as soon as my 6 months were up. I recommend you to do the same. Based on the responses I get and the duration I end up waiting for, I will also consider internal review and complaint process. We are clearly worthless when we are facing them on our own, however, if more people use these processes, it may become meaningful.
