Sarah Rapson was put in the post this April and is 'acting' as the director general of uk visas and immigration section.

Rob Whiteman is director general of the whole uk border agency

Re: ILR Set (o) 10 year long stay application

Post by missniu » Thu Apr 25, 2013 1:43 pm
I received a positive news today.
Applied: 24 August 2012
Received :31 August 2012
Biometrics: 1 November 2012
Biometrics done: 1 November 2012
April contacted MP and spoke on a weekly basis with his assistant.
They wrote a letter and called the hotline for me.
I also wrote a letter to Teresa May, Rob Whiteman, and home office and when they responded I continued to ask questions.
Case was assigned to a work team around 19 August 2013....case worker assigned 24th ...decision made within two hours of being assigned to a case worker.
ILR letter and passports: 25 April 2013
BRP: waiting

I really need to get this BRP card back by Saturday to make my flight. Contacted the department that deals with BRP and they said my card had been made and will be sent out and to expect it in 3-7 working days....fingers crossed it gets here by Saturday.

Hope this helps others to understand the process. I would suggest not writing to anyone until the 7 and a half marker. I think after that you have legitimate causation to write.

Everyone I spoke to at the UKBA have been very helpful and kind on the phone...minus one person...but they could have been having a bad day.

Keep patient and wishing everyone much luck! I will notify when the BRP card comes. :)
Hi there,
I got my BRP within 3 days and passport within 4. Hopefully ,yours will get to you before saturday

I would also guess it's the one looking at the email format of other HO people.

Strange enough, when I tried any random @homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk email, it also returned OK eg. blahblahblah@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk :)

I would just send it away and see if there's any auto response.

missnui

Was it 3 days after it had been approved by HO or three days after getting your letter? OH I do hope this nightmare could end with a happy note....as everyone here knows this has been emotional for us all.

Received my BRP with ILR on it!

Applied 15/08/2012
Acknowledgement: 20/08/2012
Biometrics: 10/11/2012

only 1 issue surprise me. My wife is in transitional route as she came here before 9th July 2012. so she should get 2 yrs visa. but they gave her 2 and half yrs visa under new rule.

so my question is can she apply for ilr (SET M) as she completed 2 yrs residence as a tier 1 general dependent.
1 quick question

did you both (your SET (O) and your wife's FLR(M)) applied at the same time?? or did you applied her FLR(M) days after you sent your SET(O),,... Did you contacted the Home Office after you got your ILR by any means...Phone, letter, fax, email...etc

Please share this information ... so we will have a lot of relief regarding this issue

and also @ Ged if your still seeing this forum and reading this post..please let us know whats your experience with regards to the above question
so half left info...
what did you do finally ?

In that case you try as below
Wiggsy wrote:I then came straight to the point and said "Do you have the email addresses for David Wood and Sarah Rapson?" he said "I'm not aware of them, but I am sure that we will respond to this in your enquiry."

He said that Rob Whiteman IS NOT directly running the UKBA now. Complaints should be addressed to Sarah and David respectively - HOWEVER, complaints about what happened on Rob's watch are being dealt with by his office.

I asked again "But we cannot complain directly if we don't have contact details?" "If contact is sent to Rob, the messages will be forwarded onwards appropriately."

Thanks for the info, i have heard from many members that they dont need to send the documents back again to back up pending FLR(M) application, as it comes automatically because it is linked with main applicant.
