Sarah Rapson was put in the post this April and is 'acting' as the director general of uk visas and immigration section.

I really need to get this BRP card back by Saturday to make my flight. Contacted the department that deals with BRP and they said my card had been made and will be sent out and to expect it in 3-7 working days....fingers crossed it gets here by Saturday.


Hope this helps others to understand the process. I would suggest not writing to anyone until the 7 and a half marker. I think after that you have legitimate causation to write.

Everyone I spoke to at the UKBA have been very helpful and kind on the phone...minus one person...but they could have been having a bad day.

Can any1 advice as when UKBA ask for additional info & when they receive that, then from that day how long do they take AGAIN to confirm ILR

I would also guess it's the one looking at the email format of other HO people.

Strange enough, when I tried any random @homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk email, it also returned OK eg. blahblahblah@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk

I would just send it away and see if there's any auto response.

Was it 3 days after it had been approved by HO or three days after getting your letter? OH I do hope this nightmare could end with a happy note....as everyone here knows this has been emotional for us all.

Ive been complaining to UKBA a lot lately ...even sent a complaint to parliamentary ombudsman....

Received my BRP with ILR on it!

BRP received: 25/04/2013

Waiting for passport now!! I AM SO HAPPY!!!!!!

Wonder if I should still continue with complaint with ombudsman for compensation???

I try to send a test mail, but failed to deliver message came back!!

did you both (your SET (O) and your wife's FLR(M)) applied at the same time?? or did you applied her FLR(M) days after you sent your SET(O),,... Did you contacted the Home Office after you got your ILR by any means...Phone, letter, fax, email...etc

Please share this information ... so we will have a lot of relief regarding this issue

and also @ Ged if your still seeing this forum and reading this post..please let us know whats your experience with regards to the above question

Unfortunately it is not accepting homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk format!

Thanks for the info, i have heard from many members that they dont need to send the documents back again to back up pending FLR(M) application, as it comes automatically because it is linked with main applicant.

Got my ILR approval today by God's grace. My timeline as follows:

Date of application: 27 Sept 2012
Biometrics done: 12 Dec 2012
Contacted MP: 02 Apr 2013
ILR approval: 24 Apr 2013
Passport received: 25 Apr 2013
BRP: Waiting

Good luck to all those who are still waiting. Hope the nightmare ends soon for all. God bless.

why should someone waiting longer than 8 months should write to rob, why cant they do after their 6 months mark.

That question is not for me to answer! I can only advise what made it quicker for me!
